Just wanted to share this with ya'll, since most glitches are a pain and while this one is a little silly it actually saved my ass so, without further adue...

...when fighting the Arcane Horror in the forest ruins, on the right hand side of the room is a hallway that leads down to the werewolf lair. I was having a hell of a time in the battle and eventually ended up with just Morrigan surviving, so I took her down that hallway to buy her some time and clicked on the entrance to the werewolf lair just for sh*ts and giggles...to my surprise, it worked!

When I got down there, the rest of my party was there too, and resurrected. So, I waited a few seconds, healed up, went back up stairs and handed that ghost his ass to him with a scoop of ice cream on top

Nice idea.

For that battle, I cleared out both side chambers and left the Arcane Horror to the very end. Sure, it got a few free shots in as I moved to the left or right chamber to clear out the undead but never enough to kill a party member.

Once the left and right chambers were cleared, I healed up (SAVED GAME TOO) and attacked the Arcane Horror.

With just it to deal with, it went down quickly.

Now, let me know how you fair in the Werefolk Lair because I keep getting killed.

It might be because I am doing the Elf quest as my third but honestly, the werewolves have been pretty easy so far. Oghren soaked up most of their aggro while Morrigan froze them in packs and Leliana and my main made mincemeat out of 'em. The werewolves have been my easiest foes yet, but I suspect that may not be the case if I hadn't done Redcliffe and Ozramar first.

Going into the werewolf lair without being able to stop overwhelm on nightmare pc is not fun...

Except for laughs.

That arcane horror was pretty difficult imo, the guy has some pretty powerfull spells, fireball for example. And of course the annoying teleport. I died a lot because I wanted to rush him. I eventually simply killed him by a mage stall war! My main character casting blizzard, tempest, fireball ect on a distance with my other mage healing me. Took the bastard out :wizard:

The arcane horror in the elven ruins has one very fatal weakness.

Hes tied to the four summoning circles.Pull all the skeletons away and deal with them. The open up your archers on him...yes a simple tier 1 longbow will do the trick. Its range is bigger than his spell range.

Hey there outlaworacle!

See, this is my first exploration portion of the world after leaving Lothering, so perhaps that is why I found the final battle in the Werewolf Lair so difficult but I did finally get past it.

M_arc,

The Arcane Horror can be tough but the pillars along the stairs can be used to conceal party members. I used that to bring them down one at a time to avoid being hit with its spells.

From there, I sent one party member to attack the Arcane Horror, which spawned all the skeleton guardians (reminded me of IWD), then drew back out of range from the mage and killed the skeletons as they ran up the stairs.

The tip for that fight is: DO NOT send in any melee.

Every time someone enters the Arcane Horror's melee range, he will teleport away, throw a nasty AoE onto the area and summons a bunch of skeletons.

What I did is switch my entire party to ranged weapons, made them stay put on the stairs and took down the arcane horrow without much problem at all. The arcane blast does not reach the stairs, the summoned skeletons can be much more easily tanked and the demon did not teleport once.
