Ah, this problem still exists? Both Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age Origins sometimes mistakenly think that PCs have 1 core instead of 2 (or more).

It correctly recognized my i5 -560m as having 2 cores. Might be amd-specific bug?

Sounds like an AMD specific bug. I have a 6 Core processor and it only "sees" one. Windows sees all six, but DA:0 (and DA2) don't.

Edit:
Specifically, I have an AMD Phenom™ II X6 1100T Processor. >.>

The configuration utility doesn't see the cores but is the game seeing them (that's all what's important)?



Load up the task manager, start the game go into the first combat then pause and ALT-TAB to desktop. If all the cores are used about evenly in task manager then the game do see the cores despite what the configuration utility reports.
