Hi,

I'd like to confirm if other PS3 owners experienced audio cutting issues in the demo. When dialogue was spoken between the chantry lady and the dwarf, everytime the dialogue would switch between them the music would as well ever so subtly, as if the music was not being mixed with the voice audio but instead pre-recorded in one stream and just played.

Anyone else experience this?

If this is true we can expect this bug to remain in retail since Bioware's PS3 support in DA1 amounted to waiting almost a year for a patch.

noticed it in both the 360 version and pc im thinking its cuz its a demo and have a feeling the prologue in the retail game is not going to play out in the same way i think they cut parts out and thats why there is that weird cutting from dialogue/freezing and the music not matching properly.

This is a good theroy and makes alot of sense. I think this may be the issue would be nice to get a confirmation from bioware on this though.

I have PC demo and music/sound effects are fine, the spoken dialog is barely audible, if you turn up the volume all the way you can hear it ever so slightly along with an echo. Glad it's not just me and my PC. Hopefully EA fixes this soon or when the real game comes out.

I also noticed that most of the time Hawke and the party member battle cries can't be heard, I've had one occassions in which you could hear Carver, Bethany and Aveline's ones but not Hawke, there was the same issue with the Isabela segment. I just pray that this will be patched up anyhow, I really don't want to bother with another DA:O bugfest situation.

The audio cutting-out only occurs while the cut-scene is loading. Notice the "loading.." message at the bottom the screen.

My problem had nothing to do with cutting out during cut-scene loading. It happened across the board with every occasion of spoken dialog

I had a different issue with audio in the PS3 Demo, voices would not be present at all, all other audio was fine. Tried re-downloading problem persists.

I had the same problem as Sekarth on the PS3 demo, no voices at all, but I figured out the problem. Somehow my PS3 had gotten set to use Linear PCM 2-channel instead of Dolby 5.1. Set it back to Dolby and it worked fine.

I would blame the audio cut-out on the mixed settings (surround sound unit expecting Dolby and getting 2-channel)... but while the problem was happening, I bypassed the surround sound unit and ran it straight to my TV speakers (stereo) and had the same problem. Makes me think it's a problem with the demo's audio output in PCM linear 2-channel.

I noticed it too, big time when Flemeth is talking about the Darkspawn overrunning the Wilds.... hope they release a patch for it on launch day.

I've also notice terrible framerate issues in the cutscenes on the PS3. Not as bad in the 360 demo. Can ya'll re-assure us these issues are fixed for the PS3 now?

I'm also noticing a major issue in the PS3 demo, both my audio and video shutter. A cutscene will run and every few seconds the video will freeze for a second then speed up to catch up, same goes for audio, periods of skipping then rapid catch up and overlap. When this occurs I also have bad skill lag, I'll cast or use a skill and it'll freeze for a moment, then play through with delayed sounds and aftermath animations. I'd cast a fireball, it'd freeze, start up again and the darkspawn would be dead but it'd take another few seconds before the sound of the explosion will play and flames to dance.

I use to be able to fix this by just restarting the demo then everything would run smooth, but today it no longer helps. I have a good feeling its the demo and not my system because this doesn't occur in any other game I play. I pray this is just a faulty demo and that the actual release onto the PS3 will be far more forgiving.

It's the demo. Still hoping the framerate cutscene issue is fixed for release! <_<

Don't remember any sound issues but I do remember a framerate issue. In comparison to the xbox, the PS3 actions scenes really suffers from low framerate. I really hope people at Bioware will fix this, but I doubt it since Mass effect 2 PS3 had framera issues during action scenes too.

I had some problems aswell. Nothing really game breaking but the thing i really noticed was that in the intro dialogue between the chantry woman and the dwarf the reverb of the dialogue would cut off. So the dialogue itself did work and sounded okay. It was like someone was trying to make the demo as small in size as possible so they cut out all the reverb tails from the dialogue sound files. A bit weird and i bet its already fixed in the final product. There was also a general clumsyness to the opening cinematics because of these weird cuts. We'll see.
