What has happened to BioWare? I recently played the demo and upon doing so, I was most discouraged. I was unable to keep up with the speed of the combat which indubitably means that it has been dumbed down (have to insert key phrases). Furthermore, while I have no experience in game production myself, my 30+ years of gaming have made me an obvious expert at making successful games and it is quite obvious that this will not be a successful game. Not that it should be mind you as high sales numbers invariably mean that the game has been made for the lowest common denominator (remember key phrases) and would not be worthy of my time.



In summation, I believe that this game is utter garbage based on my 30 minute demo playthrough. I shall be canceling my pre-order post haste and surely, I will be only one of the millions of betrayed RPG fans who will be doing the same. My palette will only be reserved for the truly mature fare, such as the Witcher. In the mean time, I will make the entirely reasonable request of having BioWare refund my pre-order forthwith. What's that? They aren't selling me the game? Oh you poor simpleton! When we intellectuals make our demands, we get them without question!

i didnt see kung fu or hack and slash while playing the demo. My advice: buy the game

No one likes posts like that... because any "look at me" posts are irritating. As stated, Bioware has nothing to do with your pre-order, and if you don't want the game, cancel it.

the demo was fun for me, short but fun. Typical Bioware too, for anyone that have played their games before. Even the first post, reminded me of Jade Empire. -Chuckles- That said, the combat looks more fun this time around, then Origin. At least to me, as the RP aspect, pretty hard to say from the demo itself, since it only showcased the combat.

where did you pre-order the game i ask as i want to make sure i never pre-order a game from a store that wont refund pre-orders or atleast give store credit (tip in the future only leave a small depost)

I for one after having played that demo can't wait to get the full game!
You played the console game I imagine? Just asking since you complained about it being hack-n-slash, PC version is basically the same combat as DOA, just slightly faster animations... and less boring but that's my opinion

Well if you don't want the game cancel your preorder.   If you actually paid money already for then you need to talk to the retailer who had you pay a deposit on it.   While Bioware may not have made the game you were expecting they have no control over retailers charging deposits for preorders.

The reason you're getting a negative response on this topic is because Bioware has not misrepresented the product you pre-ordered. They've showed videos of the combat, and they've repeatedly said that the game was flashier and more action-oriented.

They also released a demo, prior to the launch of the game, which allows you to experience the new combat.

When you pre-order something, you are always taking a chance. Live and learn, I guess? Also, if you want a refund, you typically go to the people you gave your money to.

The simple matter is do not pre-order until you either play the demo or research reviews ect..  There have been plenty of gameplay trailers and hands on that you should have known what the combat was like.  That said, after playing the demo I'm going out to pre-order now

Goto the shop you pre-ordered it from and tell them you wish to cancel it. The issue is not Bioware's it's your game shop's or even your own if you fail to cancel it.

You disliking the game does not me that the game was misrepresented. You are getting a negative response because you yourself are misrepresenting: at best, you are willfully ignoring reality to make your point, while at worst, you are actively lying. Bioware never lied or hid what the game was: in fact, we've seen quite a bit of gameplay footage before now. You not paying attention to it or choosing to ignore it doesn't mean misrepresentation happened, it just meant that you were ignorant on what was going on.



From now on, you may wish to consider actually learning about a game before pre-ordering it if you apparently pre-order games by placing money down for them (which is silly in itself: why would you pre-order from a place that requires you to give them money while you gain nothing from it?).

Sure, you dislike the demo.. fair play to you, but miss sold? I canno fathom how this is to be the case.

As for the demo imo - HUGE improvement, much better then the dire combat on DAO.

Actually since the OP hasnt recieved the item in question, the retailer she is dealing with is obligated to give her a full refund of any money paid, or deposit placed. At least in the US that is. Sounds like a gamestop deposit, based on what little she/he said.

Regardless of the Op's feeilngs of being mislead, getting money back , actual cash or a credit on a debit/credit card is 100% guarenteed

You posted a nonsense trolling thread to express your distaste for the demo. There is a feedback thread for that. If you were truly concerned about a refund, you would have contacted your retailer. You are receiving this reaction based on the tone and intent of your original post. Don't act like a victim.
