Can I save my ME2 character (to import to ME3) but delete ME2?

I need to save space on my computer, but I want to import my ME2 Shep to ME3. I looked around in my ME2 folder for a save file, but I couldn't find it. Is there any way to single out the save file?

Your saves are located under My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 2/save/character name.
When you uninstall ME2, you will be asked if you want to keep your saves and settings.
