I wonder if I purchase it on one platform (PC) try it out and find it doesn't run well, if I can exchange it for another platform (PS3). Hmmm......

If not... one for the toolset and one for the couch?

Are you sure you can't upgrade your card? If this is a desktop computer you should be able to upgrade it easily enough (barring any power and space problems.) As far as I can tell (doing a quick google search) all 8600GTS are PCI-E. Maybe I missed it and there is a AGP 8600 card.

But even with a 8600 you should get pretty good framerates, at least playable.

Xonze, the slot the card is in is a PCI-E 16. What card would be a good upgrade? (not 2.0, either...it's an older motherboard. Gigabyte 965P-DS3. But, maybe you can confirm/deny; I've heard the 2.0 cards are backwards compatable?)

I hope this may be of help to you,i have been trying out the 3 different versions since release(in the UK so only got my ps3 version yesterday),of which by far the 360 version seems to be the ugly step child, the ps3 version runs well and looks very good. However comparing the console versions with the pc i find myself running into the same conclusion, the pc game plays very tactically and arguably deeper whilst both console versions seem more inclined to feel like action rpgs, also with the consoles you get the feeling that your toon is the pivitol force whilst the pc version will relay a team based experience.

You should be ok running DA on your pc,your specs are very similar to mine, ram seems to be the weaker point but overall DA seems very optimised for the pc.

This game means alot to me so i'm in a conundrum myself,do i complete on pc or ps3,at no time will the graphics between the 2 be an issue but the deeper experience offered and the comfort of gaming enviroment most certainly will.

Good luck:).
