Hi everyone, I have a question for you, but first here is some information about my computer:
Windows 7 Ult (64bit)
Intel i7 x980 (6 core, 2 threads per core) @ 3.33Ghz (stock)
Kingston HyperX DDR3: 12GB
x2 nVidia 9800GT 512MB in SLI configuration
x2 WD Blacks stripped (SATAIII)
ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard

My system is pretty fast, so when I play this game on a medium settings with an AA of 8 ... the game gets choppy? I have setup the SLI in AFR mode 1 (otherwise it doesn't use SLI at all), and the game doesn't seem to use PhysX at all since when I have the display up it is saying CPU and not GPU.

Can anyone suggest why it would be choppy if I have in-game AA set to 8x?

EDIT:
I've turned off the in-game AA and then set my AFR to mode 2 and set AA Mode to Override application and set the AA to 8x, seems to be running fine now with the appropriate visual effect. Will try 16x and update.

But my original question still stands: Why would it be choppy on my system using the in-game options with my HW config?

EDIT:
Set it to 16x, didn't see much dif from 8x, still running smoothly.

I was experiencing chop as well. However, it was only during dialogue, paritcularly when the convo would switch to a differently character.

Combat was very smooth however.

Oh.. I guess telling folks where it was choppy would have helped... I'm so dumb sometimes: I have have trouble in-game while moving my PC around the battlefield, and during combat.

When I was playing yesterday it was not choppy at all but this morniing when I switched from DX11 to DX9 it started to be choppy especially in conversations. Didn't have time to restart and test but I think it's some graphics combinations that's doing it

Hmm...I guess it might be a DX9 issue then... Might be time for a new set of video cards... You know as soon as I buy DX11 cert'd cards DX12 will be launched the next day.

Never used a 9800GT in SLI config, but I found that this worked wonderfully for me yesterday:

Phenom II x4 @3.4GHz

GTS450 x2 SLI (display driver ver. 266.58)

Dx9,Medium graphic setting @ 1920x1080

In game: AA x8, Vert sync and "screen space ambient occlusion" on

Nvidia Control Panel: AF 2x, AA-Gamma ON, AA-Trans 4x, Single display performance mode, AFR2

Result==> FPS: Avg: 58.839

There were some brief pauses in cutscenes with a "Loading..." message... but a lot of people have reported that.
