A good list here.

I'd add the following to it:

1) More specific numerical information in spell and equipment descriptions and tooltips (i.e. replace "moderate damage" with "4d6 damage" or "4-24 damage", replace "you are receiving a bonus for wearing set items" with specific values that the set conveys, etc).

2) Camera could use a more zoomed out view and could be set so it can be moved further away from characters. Currently, in the top down view, I often find I can be engaged at range by enemies without being able to scroll away from my party enough to view and select the attackers. That essentially translates to enemies having an artifically created ranged advantage due to restrictive camera movement. It should be possible to move the camera far enough to cover the maximum ranged attack distance. In the exploration (3rd person) camera view, I can see far enough to select any enemy attacking me at range - it is counter-intuitive that in the tactical (top-down) camera view, I cannot move the camera to see or select the same enemy at that same range.

I'd also put combat log window in bold, underlined, capital letters, cos I so miss having one ;)

(btw I've set up polls to measure desire for combat log windows and specific stats, to vote in them click on my name and from my profile page select polls - so far the results indicate overwhelming support for the addition of both a combat log window and more specific numerical information for equipment and spells; glad I'm not alone, and hope Bioware will consider feedback such as that and threads like this )

Some of the tech-focused stuff on here is a bit beyond me and my level of knowledge about game design, however, I will comment on the imbalance in classes--I've definitely noticed that mages have a huge advantage in terms of really only needing WIL and MAG, whereas physical classes must spread their stat points out way more, and have much less flexible talent trees. I played as a mage the first time through and really enjoyed it, but I also want to be able to experience the other origin stories without feeling limited in terms of stats and talent tree development.

One problem that stuck out to me which I don't think anyone has mentioned, is that there are areas where dialogue is either completely dead, even after a major event, or where the dialogue is contradictory. My two biggest examples of this are after the Landsmeet, where all Alistair can tell me is that they changed the dining room, even though we had just killed Loghain, put Anora on the throne, ralied our armies and are prepared to march onward against the Blight. You'd think he'd have something else to say. Even more off-putting was that after the Landsmeet in the party camp, when I was talking with Alistair, he still seemed to think he was going to be King, talking about it quite a bit actually, even though we pretty firmly decided to let Anora rule alone. Uneven dialogue like this reminds me that I'm playing a game, not living in an epic fantasy world as a Grey Warden, which kind of defeats the purpose of role-playing.Just my two cents.

Hide helmet, yes please!--I suffered constant ridicule for my mage hat by some backseat gamers in my living room. I think we need to preserve the dignity of PCs everywhere by thus making this an option.

This is a great thread though, I hope some mods at least look at it, if not respond directly to it.

I definitely think it's kind of silly that stamina functions exactly like mana.  There's really no reason to call them by different names.  It would make sense for Stamina to be determined by Constitution.  Also something in the options to view detailed descriptions (so that you can see numbers) would be nice.

Anyway I just want bug fixes for now
1. Fix ranger pets
2. Fix item set bonuses not reapplying for party members
3. Fix quests with missing rewards

I'd like to see blood sacrifice work properly with those enimies that are under the effects of blood control, I also would like to see the shape shifting splls not have to take so long to caste (or at least be a bit faster)

on regards about mages being too powerful consider the fact that they do need a decent constitution , I died so many times because my charicters health was so low, also other then arcane warrior ,which yes is really overpowered, mages can't really use  any form of armor which means they are as shale say, squishy , and tend to get splattered against the ground.

Chizow, that's precisely what I mean. Buff the base amount of stamina restored with the Deep Mushrooms and then apply a bonus attribute modifier tied to STR. Although I wonder if there is a potential problem with this, namely the supply of these mushrooms. These things are used in crafting quite a few other items. I don't do a lot of crafting, so can anyone who does do it care to comment on whether liberal use of Deep Mushrooms is possible when crafting and consuming?

The dialogue on the 360 really needs to be patched, too many times the wrong dialogue has been fired or not at all. Luckily this can be fixed a bit by constantly using subtitles so at least you know what should be being said but this issue really needs to be fixed.

There are some crashers, repeating cutscenes (altough you can progress as normally afterwards), locking doors, ruining of cutscenes due to an object/ summon being in the way and other annoyances but otherwise it's a great game. :)

Thing I desperately want is multiplayer, but I imagine BioWare is aware that half the community is craving it. God I miss NWN and BG LAN days.

Other than that I think the characters could have had a bit more work. I would have liked to have seen someone out of the ordinary in there. Shale was a breath of fresh air but could have really done with throwing a Dwarf Mage in there or something. Something really against the norm.

It's also incredibly difficult to actually roleplay certain styles of character. My friend chose to Roleplay a Templar and as such tried to play his character as wary as possible of mages, but understood their necessity for the success of a party on Nightmare. Choices he made in the Circle and near the end of the game forced him to lose the only two mage characters available. It was a decision between keeping ciritical characters or continuing with the roleplay experience he'd invested 20+ hours in to.

Allistair - Sword + Board Warrior
Sten - 2h Warrior
Oghren - 2h Warrior
Shale - Big rock thing, but really a warrior who can launch rocks.
Dog - Yet another melee unit.
Zevran - Melee DPS (not really useful as a generic rogue until you invest the skill points in him, starts off with 0 lockpicking)
Lilianna - Archer

He's currently on a farming mission to be able to gather enough pots to make it through the last battle in Nightmare, had to drop the difficulty down to the easiest setting all because the game doesn't compensate for certain Roleplay, and it is an RPG.

EDIT - Also I miss being able to open my map and look at different areas of it without my party being near it. I also miss being able to click on an area and leave my party moving to it while I run downstairs to go to the toilet or grab some munch.

OK, I skipped a few of the posts, so some of this might already have been mentioned, but here's my own little Top 10 wish list. I haven't actually finished a whole playthrough yet (I'm about 45 hours in), but I doubt this list will change much after I'm done. Anyway, the following is in no particular order:
  • Have bows/arrows benefit from party buffs. Is there a reason "Flaming Weapons" or "Frost Weapons" don't extend to my arrows? Are my arrows coated with some sort of magic enchantment repellant? Yes, I know there are fire arrows and frost arrows, but there are swords with permanent fire and frost damage as well, and they still benefit from the buffs. Bringing me to my next point:
  • Reduce the cost of "special" arrows. Really? 16 silver for a single flaming arrow? Over 50 silver for an elf-flight one? With my rapid shot shortbow, a single battle with the darkspawn will cost me more than a whole week with all the ladies in The Pearl. Sorry, Ferelden - the darkspawn wins due to Grey Warden bankruptcy.
  • Rune slots for bows. A no-brainer, really. If archery is supposed to be a viable alternative to the other weapon specs in DA, this needs to happen.
  • Stamina potions. I'm not really a fan of in-combat potions at all (thank you, Diablo), but as long as there are health- and mana pots, why not stamina potions as well?
  • More inventory slots. If you're gonna fill my inventory with a million plot items I can't get rid of, at least give me some more room to put them in.
  • Choice of which sidequests to turn in. Right now, your character automatically turns in all completed sidequests when talking to the faction representative. This causes a problem at least once in the game, where you have a choice of turning in 9 Corpse Gall for a small reward, or 18 for a large reward. Right now, my character only has 13 Corpse Gall, so I need to wait until I get 5 more before I talk to a Chantry representative again, even though I have about 4 other completed quests to turn in.
  • More complex tactics. An "and" function would really add to the usefulness of the tactics screen, even though I kinda like the micromanaging, myself.
  • Hoods and cloaks. Am I the only one old enough to get NWN1 flashbacks whenever cloaks are brought up, by the way? Anyway, it's hard being a cloak-and-dagger assassin without cloaks and with bugged daggers, don't you agree? ;)
  • Mage hats. I know wizards aren't exactly known for their fashion sense, but dear lord - did anyone at Bioware actually at any point think the mage hats looked cool? Circlets, the aforementioned hoods; anything would be better than the monkey fez hats we're stuck with now.
  • Link items in inventory with codex entries. If a letter I have in my inventory, or a weapon I have on my character, has its own codex entry, and I choose to "inspect" the item, it's really of limited usefulness to be informed that it is, in fact "a letter". If there's a way to automatically open the relevant codex entry for the item, it would save a bit of searching if there's a specific thing I'm looking for.

Also, just as a suggestion for the expansion pack or the sequel: Keeping it rather spoilerless, let's just say that I chose a named character to enter the Fade while in Redcliffe, and playing a PC who's actually got dialogue just really added another dimension to the game. You did this extremely well with Mass Effect, and I hope, for the next one, you'll record dialogue for the PC as well.

Other than that, I have to say I'm really enjoying the game. Best RPG experience I've had in years. <3

I only agree with two things... Con for stamina for rogues/warriors (perhaps a con increasing stamina regen rate would be appropriate)

And the option to hide the ugly helmets...an inventory click box would do..

Guess ill add a few of my thoughts.

1. Remove the cooldown on the steal ability. It makes stealing from towns an effort in frustration. Unless you bring 2 rogues.

2. Make Party NPC's fully customisable upon pick up. So they don't have skills/abilites already set. The reason for this is, that i feel pigeon holed toward taking specific characters to fill certain roles. Example : What if im an evilish mage character that wants a party tank? Who can i choose besides Alistar? Sten has 6 2 handed abilites already. Oghren also leans toward 2 handers. Shale? the Dog? I want sword and board.

I realise there are mods already around for this but if it doesnt come with the game as bioware intended, it feels kinda like cheating.

3 Global cool down on all potions. As it is now you can chug one of every size of health potion, one after the other. Making the game easy.

4. Make Warrior Rogue +Stamina based off of CON also. Instead of Willpower. As has been said mages have only 2 real stat concerns. Or create a stamina potion from deep mushrooms.

5. Line of sight casting for mages. As it is now. Mages can destroy enemies from the safety of other rooms, without fear of attack. Most encounters in the game can easily be dispatched with a stealthed rogue, survival skill and AOE.

6. Make cover work both ways. If I cant hit an enemy behind barricades, why can he shoot me when im behind one?

7. Some sort of indication that the supplies im giving at party camp for the army are doing something? I bought nearly every single rune in the game and gave them to my mage allies at camp. Did this even achieve anything?

No dialogue or visual change occurs.

Conversely i gave my dalish elfs nothing. And they were just as combat effective in the final battle.

8. When merchants say they are going to give you discount, have them actually provide one.

9. Finish Morrigans side quest maybe? What happens after she has the item she seeks?

10. Dog side quest?

11 Purchasable Reaver and Blood magic tomes.

12. Larger radius of bard song buffs.

13. Fix the DLC issues with dwarf noble origin.

14. More dragons. Large bosses. Secret/Optional Bosses.

15. Alternate ways to open locked chests doors. Spell? Bash open locks?

16. Cool finishing move animations for other weapons/spells, Not just melee.

on the xbox version it would be nice if the codex remained highlighted until you clicked a button or something after you read it. Since it's in list form and there is no way to scroll down the screen without scrolling over the new entries it's easy to miss things. Sometimes I don't want to read something I just picked up right away... but later on I have no idea what new things I've picked up.

Hold button should be available for individual characters.

Would make so much sense to only hold the archer and the mage, while letting the warriors do their thing...

It's funny that I almost completely agree with all the OP's suggestions for UI changes while being pretty indifferent to all his other suggestions and almost completely disagrees with lots of other suggestions made in this thread, for instance Perpetual Sin's post above. I suppose that shows that the fan base wants different things...

Anyhow, since everyone seems to agree on the UI changes, lets hope that's where the devs start to work, if they change anything at all ;)

A second row for the action bar.
As a mage (debuff, crowdcontrol, healing) with almost no passive skills I have not nearly enough slots to put in all of my spells. Having to access the spell book during fights is not funny in my opinion.

Arcane Warrior and Mage armor.
I found a sword for the Arcane Warrior, but no armor set (with spellpower or such) so far and I am quite far into the game.
Also my mage at 21 runs around in almost the same gear he already had at level 10. Not so cool, especially considered how many golem crystals are available, how many different sets of leather and plate armor.

Orzammar.
Loading times are too long. Maybe they can reduced by lowering the ceiling of the caves.
There are too few NPCs in the Diamond quarter, what makes it look deserted.
The Lower Streets quarter is smaller than most houses, what seems to me inappropriate considering it's a part of a town.

Quests and quest items.
After doing a quest the quest item should be removed from the inventory.
If you can't finish a quest, because an NPC is no longer available or dead, it should be marked as "failed" or removed from the quest log.
Also I consider it a bit irritating, that some NPCs are marked with an arrow above their heads, even when they are no longer quest NPCs for you.

I think they should show the mana bar and armortype of the enemies too

It would be nice to know the enemy mana bar, because of some spells (like tempar's Holy Smite)....
And the armortype.... I would rather get my spellcasters burning a high-armored enemy than a medium-armored

I'd like to see exactly how much mana/hp the selected char has instead of a generic line which indicates very little on the main UI.

first off just to let yall know i'm on the ps3 so mod do nothing for me which brings me to number 1

make it where console owners can download mod and other user made crap it can be done see URT3. that would solve a lot of my little pet peeves with the game biggest one being my female dwarf can't have a beard.

2. more dungeons and not just for more loot and xp, i mean really the whole country has what maybe 5 ruins and all of them have to do with the story. i kind of like seeing a place and going there is no reason to be here but lets see whats inside.

3. orgin storys playing a bigger part in the story there really no difference in between a noble or casteless dwarf and so one. while i'm on the subject where's the human commoner.

4. more skills for the fighter and theif, i just seem confined to just a few options i mean why can't my theif have a skill tree for just using a single blade so i can have a char in the vein of zorro or roben hood. and why does the fighter only get just 2 non weapon skill

trees. they just seem just limited in what you can do with them.

4. a few more races would have been nice, i'm not saying they should have went all out and had like ten or so but they could have thown a half elf in easily without adding a new orgin seeing as how they could have fit into the elven orgins (or a human commoner if they had that one). heck even gnomes could of fitted in with the dwarves.

5. how bout a few grey warden skills, they wouldn't have to be anything great but something to set the grey warden's apart from evey one else. i mean really all ya get for being a GW is a level thats it, they nothing to set apart my GW from any other char in the world gameplay wise.

i have a few more things i could add but most of them have been brought up aready and the ps3 will only allow so many characters in a field before it cuts you off hince the 2 posts back to back.

and as always yes i know my spelling sucks deal with it
