Well that's a change in and of itself lol. I remember in the days before the release of ME2 a lot of people wanted to see FemShep, but she was largely unrepresented. It's just a little depressing that all I want to see is a demo run of a MaleHawke warrior...Gerudan wrote...
The trailers are still full of Malehawkes, but the community wanted to see Femhawke a bit more and Bioware listened.
Yeah. ME2 is not DA2, thank god. I love the game, but they REALLY need to update their PR team if they want to expand their audience outside of frat boy realm. For the most part, a lot of their interviews talk about how they envision a straight male Shepard and everything else is secondary (Female included). Steams me up and just makes me angry. I really hope they don't actually believe this philosophy is what makes ME2 so popular. Because it isn't. Its the story. Not the tom jerkery.
I'm really crossing my fingers and HOPING DA2 receives some outstanding sales and fantastic numbers involving female gamers after pushing all these Demos of Lady Hawke. If feedback for Lady Hawke continues to be positive, as is suggested by blogs like Kotaku, it could influence the way other game companies pay attention to lady gamers.
I mean, no pressure. But the DA2 team is one of the first whose actually trying a bit more variety, even though they started with a "I AM A BEARDED MAN" campaign.
