has anyone used the cain 920 against the human reaper at the endgame in ME2, as a one shot, one kill effort?
last run, I brought the 920 with me, and after whittling down the reapers vitals to halfway, I blasted it with the 920 and kaaaabooooohhhhmmm...lol! he was finished!
I would like to try blasting the human reaper when it is at full power and see if it kills it in one go, but if I use all my heavy weapon ammo...lol...well...lol
anyone ever try blasting it with the cain 920 with its vitals at full?

What I find annoying is that at the start of each section you get heavy weapon ammo back, but only if you have room for a full load. If you have 95% for the Cain you ain't getting a second shot. Enjoy 195% and 100 credits.

I never used that thing very much. It takes too long to charge and you only get one shot. I mostly used the Arc Projector.

I used it on the final mission and considering how you will have a 195% shot, just take the armour modification that gives you more heavy weapon ammo and presto, you will have 2 Cain shots.
I believe I scored a shot in it's chest (??) and it was killed in 1 shot. Depends on the difficulty and where you hit it

At one of my playthrough I could reach 200% charging on heavy wepons, I don't remember how - some upgrades plus maybe some armour upgrades could do it.
So yeah, I really enjoyed when I could kill this bastard with to two shots.
Anyway if you have only 195% (or a little bit less) you can shoot once, than you can kill a Harbinger - in the most cases he will drop heavy weapon ammo, so you can finish the reaper.

Cain is great in final mission and Garrus loyalty mission with two YMIR mechs at the end.

At Garrus' loyalty mission my favourite tactics is kill the first YMIR with headshot - then this will explode like a cain hit.
In normal difficulty cain is also good when you visit the planet Aria mentioned - where you have to fight 3 YMIRs. Just switch to cain at the beginning and in the moment when you see the 3 YMIRs... shooooot. Instantly kills all of them, and all the crates are yours. Epic!

On Insanity, one shot of the Cain only took away a third of the human reaper's health ):

I mostly prefer to use it on the Praetorians, as their constant barrier recharge "You can't hurt me while I'm doing this" thing is annoying. The Cain significantly cuts down on how many times you're stuck waiting for them to finish with that nonsense. It's pretty good on the Haestrom Colossus too, so long as you can quickly get close and finish it off on higher difficulties.

The Cain, however, is not a wise weapon of choice against the Shadow Broker.

Frankly, I think we need to just equip everyone on earth with a Cain and take out the reapers on foot. |3

I beg to differ, I have no idea how I did it, but it was awesome.

I've never used the Cain ever. Just didn't seem cost-effective.
I shall now sit back and await your derision.

I save the Cain for the final mission just to hurry up the boss fight. Brings the Reaper down to ~1/2 health and then I can just finish him off.

I managed to use it to finish off the HR on my first time through the game, thought it added some flair to the take down. I like to think my Shep said a witty one liner while it charged up heh.

I specifically hunted for locations of Heavy Weapon Ammo upgrades so that I could have 200% in the final mission. I did and it was glorious. My Viper brought it down to 75% then finished it off with Dual Cain shots while shouting a one liner.

I first used it to see what it actually was, and fried a couple of loki mechs to bits...lol. Was my first run through, and since I have never played ME1, I really didn't know how any of it worked. Lots of trial and error. Now I only use it for a few things.
That proto thingy on the collector ship always eats my lunch, so I brought my cain 920 this time. Heh Heh! Won't be bothering anyone again for a while..lol! (till next run anyway!)
I also like to use it on grunt loyalty mission to take down the big worm. I enjoy sniping, so I pop it a few times, then, nuclear light show!!! And I used it on the human reaper last time, which was my second run through. I used the particle beam blaster on my first run. I think I will bring the 920 again this round!

The Avalanche on rapid-fire is great against the SB.

I've never tried that, as I hardly ever use the Cain except for this mission. Though, according to the ME Wiki, the Human-Reaper doesn't die with one Cain blast; it just reduces its armor.

Works great on the derelict reaper..that stupid eye thing dies in one pop.

If you use individual armour parts, and get the leg armour with 10% extra heavy weapon ammo, as well as taking the paragon path during Zaeeds loyalty mission, you can have 200% ammo and get a second shot with the Cain.

The Cain is proof that you don't need heavy weapons. But it's a lot of fun in the right places. You can finish things like Overlord on normal with one Cain shot. The two Ymirs at the end of the warehouse are also prime candidates. Praetorians are another good one, on normal, Cain will vapourise it in one go on the Horizon mission.
