I feel good for those who have DirectX 11.

I'm on the 360 so I don't have to worry about graphic cards or upgrading my tech, but I'm always stuck with what is packaged in the console.

I hope you guys enjoy those beautiful graphics, because they are without a doubt amazing.

*pat pat* I'll dedicate my run to you! Assuming my graphics cards don't melt down from my recent overclocking.

Grazie. I don't feel bad, though. I prefer gaming on consoles to PC's. Last PC game I played was Age of Mythology(although I played it on a Mac).

Very nice pics, OP. Only my new lappy is DX11 compatible and I'm not so sure it could handle having everything maxed, but it's still nice to see the screenies. Only a Geforce 425M. Handles LotRO well enough but that game is old. And a MMO.

Yeah, I guess that Laptop won't cut it. Dx9 should be ok, though.

Sadly it doesnt look that great still. Especially if you compare it to Witcher 2,Two Worlds 2 or TES:Skyrim or DA:O.

Has anyone noticed this but me. When the DX11 tessilation is turned on, part of her feet disappear into the ground....Glitch or is that something that's gonna happen, that's a big turn off. Unless that's JUST to show how much of a difference is being done with tessellation and that will not happen in the final gme. Any thoughts on this?

what would you set AA and vertical sync at?

Depends on how good your system is. You can get away with 2x AA at1280x1024 or higher (good enough to squelch obvious jaggies IMO). I've never seen the need to push it past 4x for anything running at that resolution. Vsync should be on to stop "tearing".

Does anyone know if the hi-res textures ship with the game, or are they an add-on? Anyone have any official information? Did this german magazine use some mod of their own or? I'm not in the loop, sorry... and thanks for any info.

They activated it in the game - now you can make a guess if it was included or not... Posted Image

Eh, why wouldn' they be? It's the amazing textures that make it look good. Though I probably won't be able to run them on max, I bet they need like 8GB ram.
Anyway for DA2 - by the looks of those pics it looks good. I wanna see some close ups too, but that'll have to wait until release.

Some textures and the shadows are great. It's just a shame that little was done to improve character models. Then again, one of my biggest gripes with the game so far is that the art direction seems to be compromising graphical prowess. If the art direction REALLY stood out and character models didn't behave so erratically, I might have really enjoyed the what they're going for.

As it stands, from what I could gather from the granted old build of the demo, thing is WAY too deep in Uncanny Valley. Weird eyes, weird mouth movement... Bummed me a bit.

Wooo! Looking forward to this. My video card is DX10 however I have DX11 installed as most recent version of DX. Not sure if this means my video card is compatible for DX11, but either way looks like some nice improvements with DX10 at least.

If your card is only able to render DX10, then you can install as many versions of DX11 as you like, but it still won't work.

about the tesselation that all depends (dosnt it all xD) it really depends what objects are set to have it running. From what I cant see there its only for terrain but that makes sence due to the huge amount a rig would have to run for everything to be tesselated(its not impossible, its just impractical)
The texture rez increase looks good, I think the most defining thing about this engine is that the normal maps dont show very strongly and its lighting is diffrent to most other engines.

And how is that relevant to DA2 ?

Sigh. Oh well...at least you got a great taste in books.

Its releveant because BioWare SHOULD be able to have that level of polish, you know, of a smaller studio that doesnt have EA's money and marketing behind it, that is the point.

graphics mean **** if the system crashes like DA:O

they never resolved the issue causing crashes..having to set my affinity to only use ONE of my processors in DA:O to keep it from crashing is moronic.

Demo seemed fine for DA2 but I'm curious if BioWare has bothered with this issue in their engine upgrade for DA2

Somehow, the witcher 2 graphics look off and oddly fake to me. No idea why........

the tesselation seems nice. But the big jump was from dx9 to dx10 it seems. The dx11 seems to only ad some depth to the ground. Which is nice, but may not be extremely noticable during gameplay. Idk. I'm just trying to jusitfy spending 150+ on a new video card for one game. I play mainly console games, but DA seems to shine on the pc in this case like in DA:O.

it's an issue with "hyper" realism. As graphic gets closer to real life it looks more fake. That said the witcher 2 looks to be a graphic powerhouse of a RPG. Hope the combat is bareable. From what I've seen I'm nit sure I could get into the combat.
