It's a little different from the ordinary grammar police type spellchecking to be fair. I've noticed on various boards quite a few people use 'looser' - frequently enough that it's not just a typo issue. Some people might actually appreciate being told that they're mangling a word every time they write it.

You can, but expect criticism from some people. I can't count how many times my parents used to tell me "I don't want you playing video games, it rots your brain".

Just tell them you dont want them listening to rock and roll then cause its the devil's music. They should get the referance from their childhood.

To be fair, the meaning of the other word would equal "****".

I love Dragon Age, Love playing around with tools, coming to this website, but at the same time I know that these are all geeky nerdy things. They cause others to say things to you like "get a life" and others. Is it wrong to get committed to  something as trivial as a video game. There are plenty of Star Trek  trekkers  [or is it trekies?] that commit themselves deeply to a movie. Can't I commit myself to a game without ridicule...   :crying:

Losers generally can't spell 'loser', so...

Nothing to do with grammar.  You fail at being a smartass.

I happen to be both a geek and a jock, and the poster that said both get mocked by the other group is correct. You should be that which makes you happiest. Oh and if your really good at playing with the toolset create lots of fun stuff for us other geeks to play!!!

People who play games are awesome!

Those who confuse loser with looser, much less so.

Everyone should be commited.

Important life lesson: "You'd stop worrying so much about what other people thought of you, if you realized how seldom they did."

Beats staring at the TV for hours. Any hobby looks weird to outsiders, the key is to have an active hobby. If you're actually playing with the toolset, then it's an even more active hobby, where you create something. To me, at least, that makes you an interesting people. It's the folks who just work or go to school, then watch TV who bore me.

Obsess on something. It makes you interesting.

Playing fantasy rpgs on the computer is not geeky or nerdy in and of itself.  When nobody was looking, video gaming went pretty mainstream.  I've always played video games and along the way, I still found time to make the all-state team in football (long time ago, lol), have several bad relationships and drink myself into a stupor more times than I care to remember.  Nothing says you can't do it all or at least die trying.

Totally agree with the bolded part.  Most people don't want to appear unintelligent to others if they can avoid it.

I don't get ridiculed(unless my family are doing it behind my back), and anyway, I don't care if I am. I am retired, I find computer games, especially immersive games like this one, fill in my day, and hopefully I shall live longer for that. :)

When they are done being cool guys and gals, coming in after playing touch football or ultimate frisbee (like they could play a real sport), coming home from the bars after picking up their next STD-to-be, when the bottles and cans of alcohol are all empty, when the sheets are changed to clean up their sloppy and probably under par performance, they will log onto their little myspace and play mobsters. They're the idiots of the world, just get used to it and play your game...

Me and my wife are both in our 30s, have an 11 year old daughter, work full time in good careers as nurses. If playing video games makes me a loser then I guess I fit the bill perfectly. =)

And IMO beats the hell out of watching Dancing with the Stars or whatever other trash seems to be on TV these days.
