I agree with ofish, it is getting a bit over the top and Bioware you risk disenfranchising the very people who are loyal to you simply because they A) Can't afford all the extra stuff,
live in countries like Australia where the shipping costs double the cost of the itmes. You just end up with pissed off people who cannot justify paying half the price of the game for a letter opener plus shipping and whom Pre-ordered the Signature Edition expecting it would be the total box and dice.
It's a promotion for a completely unnecessary item when you buy some completely unnecessary junk. No need to blow this out of proportion.
In regards to the comment that these are just some little item and who cares about it etc. The people who read and post on this forum are almost all big DA fans and big Bioware fans, and for alot of them when they really like something they like to know they have everything relating to it, like completing the set, or having the full experience. (not necessarily the items outside the game but the game itself.)
I agree with you that the items in question aren't really a big deal but it bugs some little part of me also that even thou I purchased the game over two months ago with the promise of getting all of the add-on stuff that Bioware is now trying to sell me a $40 coaster

Anyways... I don't think Bioware would be doing this if it wasn't bought by EA. This seems distinctly like the Dead Space 2 launch, and I can't wait for my Mass Effect 3 Happy Meal.

mmmmm reverse chirality hamburgers
