$40.90 total for a CE Grey Warden Render Letter Opener with hard copy of cerficate shipped with flat rate to Norway.

Around the same amount i payed preordering Signature Edition on PC.

If i had used UPS they would have charged $81 as the cheapest shipping rate..

Anyhow, if there are others from Norway using this forum you now know what the cost is for getting a ring. :)

I'm sure someone will put it on ebay, that's what they do

Why a limited time? Aren't replicas more of an evergreen product?

Strange reward. I wouldn't give that ring to anyone I like. LOL Seems like a recipe for disaster.

I don't think anyone is saying it will make or break the game.   But items are just as important as some other aspects and it is just sad it has come to this.  To some not having "it all" would not be the full game experience.  Others would say that the extra stuff didn't matter.  I know I still get irritated when I think about how I missed out on the Terminous and Collector stuff for ME2.  I still love the game but it irritates me still.

Sadly this is becoming so common place and there seems to be no stopping the "dangle DLC and they will buy" practice because they know it will be sold.  Many would rather just buy the DLC itself without the extra stuff tagged along.

I understand what you're saying... but things like this could just as easily be argued to take away from the full game experience by getting them. Beating DA: Origins on Nightmare with or without DLC items is totally different, it's not like characters earn DLC, it's out of character items really. So items like this to me are a double edged sword, do you want to have everything fine that is nice in a way, but they still take away from the actual full-game experience, getting powerups way before you have earned them and upsetting the balance in our favor isn't necessarily a more fulfilling way to play the game.

That is certainly true.  The DLC items shouldn't be unbalancing even though they sometimes are.  It would be nice if you didn't get said items until you reached certain conditions.  But I suppose that would lead to someone griping that they paid for it so they should be able to use it now type of thing.  In terms of roleplaying I wish DLC items where found at certain locations instead of just appearing in your inventory.  I understand it is easier to do it the way that it is done now than having to modify other parts of the game to allow them to be there.  In ME2 it is kind of excused in a way as TIM just sent the stuff to you.  You had a supplier so to speak.  But in a fantasy type setting you usually have to hunt for things or buy them in a market.  Having the DLC just appear in your inventory seems a little off.  You had to buy pieces of the Blood Dragon Armor in DA:O, now that was a good move imo.  So I understand what you are saying as well.

BioWare has partnered with Epic Weapons to create some truely excellent new Dragon Age items. You can purchase the all new Staffsword for your desktop. You can buy pendants or coasters. You can buy the letter openers and you can buy full sized replicas of the Grey Warden sword or the Darkspawn greatsword.

And now, for a limited time, if you purchase $15 or more from Epic Weapons Dragon Age products you will also get a code for The Ring of Whispers that you can use in Dragon Age 2. So order a couple of pendants, a new staffsword for your desk or one of the awesome full sized replica swords and get your Ring of Whispers before time runs out. :)

You know Priestly... a letter opener would cost $ 15,60... but to send it to me would add about $ 86,00 so that is no good deal for me and for 3/4 of the world.
Tease us with something else!

...Another DLC item? Seriously? Don't you think you've gone slightly over the top now with the amount of DLC items?

How about you just give us a complete game instead huh?

I'll just wait until the DLC goes up on the marketplace for a fraction of that price, thank you very much.

I feel sorry for those who are buying these products just for the dlc. I understand if someone legitimately wants one of those items regardless of the dlc but based on some of the earlier posts, some people are trying pretty hard to hit that $15 mark for a ring.

Good job bioware, you've been pretty successful in milking all the money you can from the extremely loyal fans.

I would have been very interested in the coasters, but 50 USD Flat Rate or 113 USD UPS? I am neither living on the poles nor on the moon. Better luck with choosing a partner next time. (Got the letter openers from the BWS, operated by Treehouse. Thank godness.)

the game IS complete, it's already gone gold and i believe that its already in the storage rooms of many retail shops. these are extra items that they've decided to make while the disks are being manufactured and waiting for release. saying that they're giving us the armory in promotional dlc packs and saying they're supposed to be in the original game is just plain ignorace

I'm not saying the dlc is on the disk(I don't even care if it is), but your logic for why it's not is horrible. You're acting like they don't have any type of PR plan and didn't know about these promotions at least pretty well before the public knew about them. You know back when the game wasn't Gold... they aren't just winging it everywhere they go and announcing everything to the public the second they work out a deal with someone.

I swear, do tech support people not read ANY emails anymore? Epic Weapons has the option to just buy the code, however it wants to charge $9,95 shipping and handling... for a CODE to be EMAILED? SO I asked them about the $9.95 shipping cost, and their reply?

"If you just want to buy the code, go ahead."

Also I'm having major runaround and hoop jumping with Atari over returned orders (canceled, then the orders were sent a week after launch of the game anyway, one having been canceled two months prior by them) they were like "We have refunded your money" and then I was like My CC company wants a credit slip, and they are like "OH, we havent' received the return shipments yet, please return the items, the we can refund your money" SO, have they refunded my money, or NOT?

Seriously.... used to be just phone tech support that didn't speak proper English, now email too?

The idea is that through cross-promotion, they can afford to hire on more staff to make these items and more. Without these promotions, the items wouldn't exist at all. Still, for a completionist like me, this is kinda irking as it's the only DLC item I won't have (other than Ser Isaac's Armor; great game, that Dead Space 2, but I can't afford it right now).

anyone know how much shipping is to Australia? also Once again VERY Dissappointed, Dead Space 2 and now this? ._. I like having all the items I can get for a game, but I'm not going to buy a completely unrelated game (I'd think about the pendant and coaster if I hadn't heard these shipping horror stories)

They do not willy nilly pull these deals out of their ass. This is something done well in advance. I will be willing to bet it was done before the game went gold since that was just a few weeks ago. It takes planning to make the items and then the background for them. It is not ignorance. It is being aware of how they are marketing this. It takes TIME so get that through your head. This game is getting to the point with all the random dlc coming out it is just too much. The stuff is either going to be junk or overpowered and leave little reason to get loot in the first place. At this rate DA3 is going to have 50+ items for promo purposes. I am at the point now where it is just amusing to see how far bioware will milk this. McDonalds get ready!

galaxy dude u make it sound like a conspiracy... writing a background for an item shouldn't take more than half an hour. it's a paragraph or two long, they're not writing the background for a soviet sleeper agent...
