I took a look through their inventory of dragon age items and well there is nothing I could justify buying there especially for a digital ring. If you were selling something other then well what is to me a big knickknack I might consider it such as perhaps some comic books or a mini game but for a coaster or fake sword? Eh just no.

You know, it's a shame that the ring looks so cool, and yet in game you aren't even going to see it. Heck, I'd have bought a replica of the ring on a display stand for $15 rather than the letter opener I chose - it looks really cool.

I was going to order a letter opener and a couple of coasters, until I looked at shipping. There is no possible way it costs that much to ship those items.

Yeah, international shipping was appalling.  Luckily I travel to the states often, so I just had it shipped a family member's address.

anyone know if you can order multiple codes from them? I just put in quantity 10 at $1 and I got to the checkout stage. Even still, $20 shipping is pretty stupid.

I would really like the coasters - just buying a house and need things like this (as I have most things already) but to ship to NZ it was around $125 with UPS or $50 flat rate. That's just stupid.

I really only need 2 codes, 1 for xbox and 1 for pc - just not sure if the codes are tied to the email address you use on your epic weapons account. Can anyone confirm if they know?

The codes are sent to your e-mail address you used to sign up with them yes. When I went by their store last week they confirmed that to me.

What about the shipping and handling the site tries to charge you? Maybe your local store might know about that, but the online help people either dont' speak English or don't care enough to answer the question.

Ouch the shipping down here to NZ is pretty pricey :pinched:

I am really glad I held off ordering the Darkspawn letter opener (even though it looks really nice)

thanks for the reply dude. I COULD just pay for the coasters on 1 account and the rings separate on another. But they aren't worth that much - USD21 - so like NZD30 just for a code. And around NZD130-140 for 4 coasters and a code. Hardly what I would call worthwhile.

May check with my mate in the US and see if he is going to be over here anytime soon. Then again, even if I just sent them to him he could ship them over way cheaper.....

At any rate, at a certain point this excessive merchandising damages a brand and the product its trying to promote, and I'm just hoping you haven't gone that far.... yet

That won't ever happen. No one's forcing people to buy merchandise, it's not a big deal.

no thats a fair point appolo but it can get to a point where it becomes excessive and turns people off and theres a line between promoting your product and going too far, I think Bioware crossed the line with the Dark Space 2 promo and this one reeeks of trying to make a quick buck especially if you want to buy it and you live overseas, maybe Bioware could ask them why their O/S shipping costs are ABSURDLY high compared to the product theyre sending (4 coasters shouldn't equal 125 dollars shipping unless it comes in a beautiful gold framed, lavender scented oak presentation box)

You should be able to buy the code for 15$ and have it emailed to you with no shipping expense. I think most people buying from them do not care about the trinkets they are buying and would just as soon buy the code alone and not pay the additional shipping costs.

anyone know how much shipping is to Australia? also Once again VERY Dissappointed, Dead Space 2 and now this? ._. I like having all the items I can get for a game, but I'm not going to buy a completely unrelated game (I'd think about the pendant and coaster if I hadn't heard these shipping horror stories)

Well I had the coasters and pendants in cart, total about $50 and then I saw the postage to Australia $170 ...Not gonna happen now. I mean seriously $170 postage.

So you know, on that website of epicweapons you can choose the ring.
And they say I am to choose the price.
What if I entered 15 dollars there?

Shouldnt that enable me to receive the ring, while avoiding any shipping costs?

So is there no official word on this item being for PS3/coming to the PS3 yet?? Some sort of answer from BioWare would be quite nice.
