Does anyone else want Hawke as your character in DA3? It would make sense from what little we know, Hawke has disappeared by the end of DA2, (he/she may have died in which case I don't want Hawke as the main protagoinst), and he/she has been called the most important person in the Dragon Age World. And since in DA2, he only brings Thedas to the BRINK of war, doesn't actually end the big war, he can't be that important unless something huge happens.
I've already grown attached to Hawke in a weird way and while I wouldn't mind having a new protagonist, (if we do, MAKE IT AN ELF), I certainly wouldn't be unhappy if we had Hawke again, (so long as we get our old companions as well as new ones). What does everyone else think?

DAIII should do the origin character creation instead of having everyone being the same guy

No I think it should be a new character in each game. Make Thedas the thing that binds all the games together. Thats what I think at least.

I agree; I want new characters in all the different games.  I like the idea of the Warden's story being over and having a game with ten years with Hawke, I'm sure the story will wrap up, or at least his part in the larger story of the world being on the brink of war.

I also like just the one set characters.  It's not like the story changed in origins based on whether you were a dwarf/elf/human outside of a few dialogue choices and the origins.

I really hope not. Nothing against Hawke as a character, just the principle of the thing. It would be clumsy to have the first game and the second game be about completely different stories only to have the third game be an extension of the story of the second.

By all means DA3 should be influenced by both Orgins and DA:2. Let it refer back to Hawke. But for the sake of consistency I hope that it is also about an entirely new character and his/her own story, lest the cries of "Dragon Effect" start up again.

Right now I'd rather see the Warden return as PC, but can't say before completing DA2.

I'm good with a new protagonist in DA3, but so far, it seems like Hawke's story doesn't really end with DA2.

Morrigan/Warden's kid would be my ideal protagonist.I'm sure Bioware would like to explore that avenue at some point if not necessarily in DA3.

No, I want The Warden to come back so we can expand on his story and continue and let him meet the First Warden Weisshaupt and also expand on the entire Grey Warden thing. Grey Wardens are kind of a big deal.

While I would love to play as the OGB or Morrigan's accidental spawn, the most they could do with it is make it an NPC or companion that'll change how the Flemeth/Morrigan conflict is ended.

Yeah, but the Blight is over. No one cares, nor will they until the next.

I think it's very likely that we'll see Hawke again in the next game. After all, Cassandra is obviously searching for the Champion because she wants him/her to do something, while DA II may only cover Varric telling Hawke's past to Cassandra. This heavily implies that Hawke will have a destiny ahead of him/her in the future (unless we find out at the end that Hawke's already dead).

However, this might be covered by DLC or an expansion, which would make room for a new protagonist in DA III.

I really doubt we'll see the Warden again, though. He couldn't be a voiced dialogue wheel character, after all...

My wish is to have an awkening sized DLC that ends the hero's story then a new PC for DAIII. I like this way better then ME3. It's hard enough starting at level 1 each time. Even worse when you once where the hero etc.

So I like hearing about my old character's heroism but prefer a new hero.

I would rather see the warden return as well - not having played DA2 yet... but also

I would rather that we get to choose race again.

Keeping the same protagonist is a ME thing, The lead developer has already... laid the law.... (couldn't resist) by saying that DA is about the world.

Would I mind if Hawke returns for DA3? No
Would it probably happen? No

Since Hawke is already voiced, Bioware could make him a party member, and the decisions you made will affect what kind of character he will be.

I wouldn't mind but i get the feeling they are going to tell us afew separate stories then have them all come together to finish off the series or something along those lines.

I don't want it to happen, not after the Warden got dumped for DA2. It would feel like a slap to the face to all of the people who not only wished they could continue as their Warden, but who do not like Hawke.

Yeah this is something I'm pretty excited about. Though I don't think they'd make him a party member. Given that we've chosen his personality over the course of the game, it would be possible for Hawke to have a cameo in later games!

I would like Hawke to play some role in DA3, but not as the main character again. I have a feeling he/she will be the Revan of Thedas.

No. This isn't Mass Effect. I like a new protagonist for each game, so long as I can customize him or her and choose his/her class. For games like the Mass Effect trilogy, where the story is focused on one exclusive character, Shepard, that's fine, but for franchises like Dragon Age, where there are many heroes and a whole universe evolving, I'd rather explore different avenues with different heroes (and times/locations).

Besides, it gets boring playing as only one character and focusing on a small part of the game world/party members/time era. I'd like to see the next Dragon Age as a prequel, hundreds of years before the events of Origins, or set in the future hundreds of years after DA2. Even the idea of a different country (Orlais, Antiva, Anderfels, Nevarra) would work. I don't want to just focus on Ferelden/Kirkwall nor do I want the story to be about two heroes (The Warden and Hawke).

Yes, I agree. I would like to know about the fate of my warden and about Weisshaupt. I hope we will find out what happened to Fiona one day....

If Hawke was a companion in DA3 it'd be pretty good I think, especially if you imported decisions etc
Then their personality would be transferred too kinda? Like snarky or aggressive etc

I doubt he'll be the main character in DA:3.

But, I suspect he very well may be back for the inevitable expansion for DA:2. From everything I've heard, this game is not going to have a real conclusion, meaning the expansion is highly likely to be a direct continuation of the game, unlike how Awakening didn't give a rat's arse about your warden from Origins. Overall, if this turns out to be true, I'll be happy. I hated Awakening, and returning to the old model where you're following your hero from one game to another is infinitely better, imo.
