Seeing how DA2 is delving into Hawke's past, my guess is that DA3 will go on about where Hawke is now and what is happening presently, though I would like to see some reference as to what happened to my warden during that point too.

No, I want The Warden to come back so we can expand on his story and continue and let him meet the First Warden Weisshaupt and also expand on the entire Grey Warden thing. Grey Wardens are kind of a big deal.

Yeah, but the Blight is over. No one cares, nor will they until the next.

Because they can't introduce a new blight in a new game, right?

It's clearly impossible. :?

No. Thedas is the main character of Dragon Age.

That said, Cassandra from Dragon Age 2 might be a main character in Dragon Age 3.

Morphin Power Hawke never become main character in the first place. He's a memoir.

I would want a new character or a return to the Warden. If they kept going with Hawke it would be quite annoying, especially considering they've said that Dragon Age is about the world rather than specific characters. The reason I would want the Warden to return is because s/he would probably be the best protagonist to deal with the god child/Morrigan/Flemeth storyline, considering how involved in it s/he was. If they go with a different storyline, I'd want a new character (though Hawke might be important if we're dealing with the war that's about to start after DA2).

Does anyone else want Hawke as your character in DA3? It would make sense from what little we know, Hawke has disappeared by the end of DA2, (he/she may have died in which case I don't want Hawke as the main protagoinst), and he/she has been called the most important person in the Dragon Age World. And since in DA2, he only brings Thedas to the BRINK of war, doesn't actually end the big war, he can't be that important unless something huge happens.
I've already grown attached to Hawke in a weird way and while I wouldn't mind having a new protagonist, (if we do, MAKE IT AN ELF), I certainly wouldn't be unhappy if we had Hawke again, (so long as we get our old companions as well as new ones). What does everyone else think?

Can we play this game first and see how it goes before talking about the next one? :)

Hawke will likely be level 30+ by the time DLC get through with him...so the likelyhood of him being the PC in DA3 is slim to Shepard.

In Dragon Age 3, I think it will be a divided story. I think that you will play as both Hawke and The Warden, both having different stories, all leading up to their epic encounter, either as allies... or enemies.

I think everyone who doesn't think Hawke's story will be continued in the inevtiable expansion to DA:2 is delusional when they think that instead, it'll be continued in DA:3.

Of course, it's also entirely possible they pull another Awakenings on us and ignore the story in DA:2 and give us some bit of fluff for the expansion again and we never find out Hawke's full story. :P

Choice and consequence in importing from DA2 would be more valued if hawke remained the main character so I would like hawke to return in DA3

I'd like to see the next Dragon Age as a prequel, hundreds of years before the events of Origins, or set in the future hundreds of years after DA2.

no.  that wouldn't make sense.

"ages" last only about 100 years...we're in the "Dragon" age.  if they did a prequel hundreds of years prior..it..wouldn't BE "Dragon Age" it would be "Somethingelse Age"

same with a future focused one.

we have 100 years, give or take, to play with in "Dragon Age"

I think the first half of the game will be Varric's tale of Hawke, and the rest will be happen...when it happens

DA:O had many possible main characters, DA:2 has 1 main character, I predict DA:3 will have no main character.

Hawke will be in DA3. Why? Because Hawke is tired of pretending that he is not special, a ****in rock star from Mars. Hawke is tried of pretending that he is not winning, at life. People see Hawke with his harem filled with hot pirate girls and elf chicks and they're brains can't process it. STOP TRYING. A normal brain can't process Hawke.

What's that you say? It sounds like Hawke is on some sort of drug? He is. It's called Hawke. You can't try it because you would die. Your face would melt off and children would cry over your exploded corpse.

DA 3 will feature "Wolf" as the protaganist. He will become the Savior of Moonray Market. Wolf is the stockboy/stockgirl of this small backwoods market and must figure out how to keep the market stocked during the Blight. You will make jaunts to local farms to bring back peas, carrots, and other goods. You will travel to Farmer Brown's Dairy to retrieve milk and cheese. You will be Savior of Moonray Market!

In line with the continued "streamlining" of the game there will be a single character class, warrior. You will have several weapons to chose from, a two handed shovel, a slingshot, or a box knife.

Was this susposed to be funny? because it wasnt.

I'm thinking there's going to be a new player character. Rolling around as the "Most important man in Thedas" is riddled with problems from a design standpoint.

what I want... Is for you to play as the child Morrigan has (yep, I'm sure they can think of a way for it work out for those that didn't do the ritual or sleep with her at some point). She eventually dumps you off at what would be the equivalent of your origins story (those were great), and then from there you come to end a World War. You find out about the Morrigan stuff later.

DA3 should have Hawke and Cassandra's baby as the main character. In DA2 we find that Hawke didn't really do anything important; he was named Champion because he slept with Cassandra and made a badass mage/templar prince to rule over both Nevarra and the Free Marches in a war against Ferelden. =D

I have no idea what Fem!Hawke has to do with DA3

No i doubt s/he will be because Mike Laidlaw has said that Dragon age is about the time period so it will probably be about another character.

I want to play as both Hawke and the Warden in DA3.
Juggle a two sided main plot with both characters decisions influencing the others.
That or the option for Hawke & New Guy or New Gal & New Guy? loads of options.

It would be like playing an origin, having a varric type cutscene break, then play the other origin!
Hehe well anything to make DA3 twice the storyline length of Origins and three times the sweetness of DA2.
To make sure of that, DA3 should be developed for a good long time, as it has to be as epic as TES: Skyrim. ^_^

I`d like a new character for each game. Mainly because if I start off as my level 30 something warden, in DA3 for example, it would be abit wierd when it comes to enemies. They would need to be more powerful as well... And that means the Arch Demon, for example, would seem like a pushover when you look back.
