I actually wonder more and more if the demo they gave us was BS. ;p
I mean, think about it. Carver is wearing peasent gear despite being a warrior like you. Despite having fought at Ostagar like you. In that game footage, you're wearing similar clothes as him.
It would make sense that they may have sexed you up a bit for the demo and that you do, in fact, start the game in peasent garb.
I suppose we'll just have to see.

Thats the one I'm talking about. Its a quick shot showing the bad guy but it's not from the same scene. They have edited the trailer like that.Blacklash93 wrote...
No. He's in Lothering, too. At 0:05.Johnny Shepard wrote...

But it was in Lothering. Look at the backround. Unless it's some sort of Fade dream, that's definitely not in the final game.Johnny Shepard wrote...
No, I think that was just put in there to show who the bad guy is and had nothing to do with Lothering.Blacklash93 wrote...
The Arishok is also in Lothering. Yeah, none of this is part of the real game.
The dragon was not Flemeth, either.
How do you know the dragon was not Flemeth?

It is the Lothering backround. And Arishok will not appear in Lothering in the real game. Hawke's mother is also on the ground behind him with other refugees. That's not in the demo.Johnny Shepard wrote...

It's a cinematic trailer using assets from the main game. It means nothing to the real game.

It's blue sky and a mountain top. That can't possible be anywhere else?Blacklash93 wrote...

The qunari wasn't in Lothering. This was talked about in another thread. If you look closely, you can see that Hawke is mourning Beth in his refugee outfit. Then it switches to him looking at the qunari, and then the NEXT scene is the ogre battle. After that it transitions to a completely different area (I mean, I'm pretty sure I saw hints of green vegetation in the background), ultimately ending in Kirkwall.
It seems to me at least that it's a montage of various events in Hawke's life and is probably for marketing purposes. However, who knows, maybe all those things are in the game. The Beth/Hawke scene could have been from one of Varric's exaggerated tales or something.
It's the blightlands backround.

Actually, the 'peasant' Hawke seems to be a mage, which means only Carver was at Ostagar.

You totally didn't get a thing I said, did you?
Of course the more likely scenario is that you're the protagonist, so you'll always look better than your dopey brother, but I'm holding out hope that things will be diferent in the release version simply because otherwise it'll be very boring to play for the first 10 minutes since we've already played it a million times by then.

Hawke falling on their knees in despair. . .DX Bioware you needed to keep that in the main game.
Maybe it is some fade thing or some flash back where his guilt over the inability to protect his younger sibling is reflected or something.

It looks to real for fade.
But this should be the real begining, i wouldnt be surprised if Hawke would be just in robes because they had to escape. I find it silly that Hawke doesnt show any emotion, fellings or anger when he founds brother/sister dead. Seriously he showed more emotion when he stabed Wesley.

Also, I personally don't see Hawke going dramatic like that while the darkspawn horde is on their tails.
Though, I'm a bit biased as I have no problem with the sibling death scene as shown in the demo. I think Hawke is still shocked and won't properly grieve until later, when the family is safe. Plus, MamaHawke whispering to Bethany/Carver "I will never forget you" always gets me *sniffles*

I don't think it's Lothering based on a rigorous examination of the video, you can clearly see the stonework behind the Qunari in the earliest few frames of the shot in question and it is not representative of any architecture seen in Lothering. It's a very simple bit of editing and it has confused you completely. I also happen think you're an arrogant nitwit for being so rudely insistent about this. But we'll both get to find out for sure quite soon, won't we?
