Sibling's death wasn't sad at all.

For those that say Hawke didn't care at all. Of course she did. Didn't you all notice the dialog option where she mention Father is no longer alone up there? It's not that Hawke didn't care. She is just *happy* her father is no longer alone. /nods.
That was a completely bizarre line...

Too early for what should be a big death to the character, no attachment, For the player. The oppositte of this would be say Aerith's death in FF7, spend 20+ hours of play time then BAM dead. No way to stop it.
And we knew one of them would die depending on class chosen for months.

Did anyone feel sad Jenkins died in ME?
Was Jenkins your Brother/Sister? No. So why would we.

I didn't feel for the Cousland Warden's father either, but my PC did and that's all that matters.
That's the problem! It seemed like Hawke didn't care, like, AT ALL!
FFS!
That was my impession as well. Ahh sibling died, that's too bad. We better get going or we'll miss lunch...
But hopefully they are teasing us and that was just a place holder as it may seem!

I don't think that was necessarily a bizarre line. It was just bizarrely delivered.

He also appears to take after Leandra who I already don't like, she seems the same as the mother of the Casteless Dwarf origin story in the first game.

Wait, what determines which sibling dies? I've been in the dark about anything related to DA2 and just finished the demo with Lady Hawke warrior. Carver bit the bullet.
If you're a mage, Bethany dies. All other classes, Carver dies.

i know he's meant to be badass, but this is my biggest worry for DA2 now. I hope that this game hits my emotional core like origins did.
I don't remember Origins ever having such things, it was a great game don't get me wrong but I don't remember anything emotional.. Bioware aren't really great at such things.

Depends on class. If Hawke is a mage Carver takes over otherwise he dies and Bethany lives on as the mage in the story.
