Try this that was posted in another thread by Atensef:

When you start the DA2 launcher, select Configure (left side of the menu). Select Online in the left menu and uncheck both options that appear on the right.



Under the Dragon Age II Demo menu on the top, select Save settings.



Then close the box. The launcher will restart by itself. Click play.



Now, click Options from the in-game menu. Click Account. Uncheck Always Log Me In.



Go back to the main menu and Click Log In. Log in to the EA server and then play normally. I skipped all the cinematic where you start the fight protecting Isabela, and finally stayed logged in through the entire demo.



Edit: I've done this twice now and remained logged in both times through.

I had the same problem, the demo disconnected and then I tried that solution given by Astenef and I've been able of getting the razor

any idea on how to check with the ps3 demo version? I can not figure out how/where to verify.

you have to be logged in online with your EA account while playing the game. Then you have to loot a corpse while in game and complete the demo for it to show up on your promotions.

Seriously there is a specific corpse you have to loot? Which one?

I started the download of the demo on my PC (which I reserved the game for) and logged onto my XBOX 360 to kill some time (and downloaded the demo in 1/3 of the time on there). I unlocked Hayders Razor that way... but I did *not* see any pop-up or in-game notification of such.

There is none...no pop-up no notification....you have to check your in-game promotions here in your account

I've beaten the demo 5 times on PC now, and it doesn't show the Razor unlocked for PC. It's unlocked for my XBOX, which does me no good. I've let the credits roll, I was logged into my account the entire time. It does say I've unlocked the Staff of Parthalan. That was unlocked prior to Hayder's Razor being unlocked for the 360.


*Edit* I just beat it again as a warrior, this time Hayder's Razor unlocked for PC.

Finally got it! After four plays. Atensef's method doesn't really help: when I tried first, I got disconnected after the very first fight (when powerful Hawke beats the ogre). I stopped playing and restarted. The second time I was lucky and finally got the item. Anyway, the idea of skipping scenes is good - the faster you play (it took 30-35 min), the better the chance of staying connected.

I've played the PC demo seven times before finally getting the weapon. I disabled automatic login and logged in manually, after Lothering I enabled auto log in. I also ESC'd rapidly through all dialog and cut scenes.
