Mage combat looks way more powerful than it is. The attacks should look better as you gain levels

Just want to say that I love how this game blows away the mage stereotype that requires you to stand way back and slowly shoot magic missiles. I am used to just shooting stuff from the staff, or physically fighting with the staff, but never both simultaneously.
I first started the demo as a rogue, but when I switched to the mage character, I was truly surprised. The staff flourishes together with magic attacks look really great, I got the feeling of real power .

Unfortunately, I quickly realized how weak the staff attacks are in comparison to the other same level classes. Yes I know it's all about the skills/spells, but then why make the mage look like a close-combat fighting machine if they can't dish any real damage?

I think I would actually prefer to see a low level character initially using a weak-looking combat style, like they don't know how to hold a staff (maybe they swing it like a bat and can't do ranged staff attacks in close combat). But as they level up, more animations should be added to show what a true fire-belching staff-ninja they have become

They aren't supposed to hit hard with their staff attack. However yes the giant bolt of [nuke?] that comes out of your staff does misrepresent the amount of damage it is doing.

But it does look nice so I'll give it that, better this way than that lame blob that DAO had.
