So my issue is the directx d3dx9_43.dll issue

However I have tried the stickied link, and that brings up a new error saying that setup could no download the file. please retry later or check network connections.

I have tried the other method, which was to open up the folder the demo was in, and find the directx there, but my folder had no such directx.

Finally I tried moving the directx folder from one game (copied from da:o) and installed that inside the redist folder, but again, I got nothing.
I am currently downloading the DirectX redistribution thing but somehow I doubt that will work....

Anyone got any suggestions?

Sounds like your Windows install is corrupted. If so, you need to run a Repair Reinstall (look it up among the Microsoft tutorials).
