Just curious as to whether people chose to have their characteres look like them or like someone completely different.
Does your character look like you?

Personally, I make my characters look like me and use my own name. For me makes it easier to experience the world trough my character. Makes it more entertaining.

I made a black character but his skin color is the only way in which he resembles me. My other two characters are both white (sorta), one is female and neither resemble me even remotely. It might be fun trying to reproduce your own face on an RPG though.

all my toons end up looking really similar. i suppose sort of like me. i just make an effort to change something big so they're not all identical. this time i picked white hair (ok, so our option for white is a little grey >.< ) instead of the red i always choose

Very different. I can't even give my characters a bit of a belly.
Also, my face is extremely round and my neck very flat. Just can't do that in DAO.

I'm male, but I tend to use female characters where possible.
Not too sure what that says about me, but I don't care dammit
I've made two characters so far; none, obviously, look like me.
I did create one of my female characters to resemble a friend of mine....came close too.

edit: oh, and I don't have long hairs anymore, since my 20's

it would be nice if we could change the body. i don't like my toon with shoulders like a man
why can't my human be petite!?

Yeah, as if I had pointy ears
Nah. It's more of "what I want them to look like" tha a "make them look like me". Besides, there are no glasses in this game, so...

Kind of. That's what I was going for, but I didn't entirely succeed. Hopefully there will be a good tutorial for morphing your character's face in the toolset soon so I can make use of its more in-depth features to get a better likeness.

Mine generally resembles me, especially the blank stare!

Nope. My character actually has hair.

Nope, mine's a dwarf, and I think that 178 cm (~5'10") does not a dwarf make, and I don't have the elegant beard he does.

None of my characters look like me. But this particular character is a dwarf, and I am 5'0 in real life. Being a short woman makes playing a dwarf rather natural.

Beyond the fact both my character and I are female, no, not alike at all. She's much taller and blonder than me, with pointer ears =)
