I really would like to know what you people were thinking when you decided to launch a demo and not tell anybody that they need an entirely different program to get it to work. Would it really have been all that difficult to add two lines worth of script to the "Call To Arms" page that says, "oh, by the way, be sure you have DirectX on your computer or all this will do is frustrate you to the very core of your soul until all you can think about are new and inventive ways of causing bodily harm to the people who decided to release a faulty product less than 2 weeks before launch."
If you're serious about getting 1 million people to download this, fix the problem. By releasing the demo as it is and forcing people to download it 2, 3, even 4 times in the slim hope that "this time it will work," you might just get to 1 million downloads. What you will also do is drive away droves of potential customers. Listen closely; NO ONE wants this kind of hassle to play a GAME, much less a demo.
Get with the program, and fix this. It's nothing short of shameful.

Uhm, the PC version downloads Direct X during the first time you run it... (Much to my chagrin). Steam should have a central location for program dependencies and have all Steam games reference this central location during installation instead of have each and every game download a new copy of said things.

That didn't happen for me. I tried to install it 4 seperate times, and it didn't work at all. It kep giving me the same error message that I just recently learned meant that I don't have Direct X
