To get the file menu for pinned items, hold shift when right-clicking it. Not sure why you would need to pin it first though since you could just right-click the file/shortcut on desktop and run as admin

I've got the same problem. I tried everything described in this thread and also installed the beta patch. Nothing works for me, up to now...

Guys, after trying really each and every solution you suggested, I found this on another site, and believe it or not, it worked!
For those having the "You must be connected to the internet to access online features of the title" error, try this:
Open your Internet Explorer 8 (even if that's not the browser you normally use), click on your connection tab under Internet Options (might be different, mine is in spanish), click on LAN settings at the bottom and then deselect "auto detect setting". Click OK and try running the game again.
