I've downloaded the demo three times, and installed it too, but every time I go to click the 'Play' button on the launcher, it stops working and closes. Any help/fix suggestions pretty please?

In all three cases from each of you, the information you have offered falls far short of being useful for anyone interested in trying to help. (Details of PC, OS, etc.)

IMO, there is a practical limit to how much of that data anyone will read, and the entire contents of either the DxDiagReport or the Belarc Report is well beyonf that point!

Same issue here, I am using the Steam version if that makes any difference, and I have download it three times as well, and verified the game cache's integraty as well for each download several times. (As for the information I would recomend using the Belarc Advisor, it will give a complete rundown of your computer just download and install, and run, then post the output like I have.)

Had the same problem (after the missing DX9.dll one). Updated to the latest AMD/ATI driver (11.2) and it's now working fine.

Yeah, I updated as well after talking to EA support, did nothing for me, also a strange symptom for me is that when I set the DEMO.exe to have admin privileges and launch either the DEMO.exe or the LAUNCHER.exe it loops from the DEMO to the LAUNCHER ad infinitum, if I click play on the LAUNCHER, and Yes on the Admin access request pop-up.

Ready the game will open and operate normally

Do a google search for d3dx9_43.dll

When you've found it, download it and put it in your System32 folder (which is inside your Windows folder)

Updating DirectX worked for me. Might be that you don't get the error message on every system...

I have loaded new graphics drivers, I have downloaded and installed the DX redistro, I have a Windows 7 x64, I have set the permissions to run as Admin, I have also set all video to lowest, set all audio to disable, set online upload content etc to not so, I have set the disable to multiple render, aspect-ratio, and intro movies. I also set the DX to 9.
Even after all this I will get an error box with DA2's name in the upper left corner and the interior says "The application was unable to start correctly ( 0xc000007b ). Click ok to close the application."
I then proceeded to put the compatibility level down further and still got the same error, until I got to Windows 98/Me, which finally did not display the error message but, got to the stage of reopening the config utility saying first time running etc. , and then proceeded to pop up a box saying the config utility has stopped working and Windows will close the program and notify if a solution is available.
