People think the gameplay is all that matters for a game to be an RPG, which is false, we have only seen a 30 minutes gamplay and conversation out of a 50 to 60 hours game and they judge it out of it, its a demo, what did you expect? In my eyes this demo is just to show the conversation wheel and the new combat, both worked fine for me, we have seen small parts of conversations that don't do any justice for the game as a whole, and we didn't see much of the customization or the equipment/items since it was all locked for the demo.

I think combat is great fun. I just love the acrobatic, over-the-top combat. This is probably my favourite way combat has been handled in an RPG. Even if it was hack and slash, this is the most fun looking hack & slash I've ever played.

The only class that looked out of place was rogue. He was on crack or something.
I think the other classes benefited from the faster animations.

Yet again, it's a demo, they showed us mostly the easy parts of the game on normal, DAO was the same for me,the origins, ostagar and the 2 first major missions were easy as **** in normal, just spam potions and your fine, after that it became abit more harder since the difficulty started scaling with the level.
I don't see any key smashing in DA2, many cooldowns(long ones if I must add) except for backstab and evade.
I agree, when the ogre killed our brother/sister hawke showed not a lot of emotions, but that was even worse in DAO, in the Human noble origins when your family almost died the warden didn't show any emotion at all, even more considering he's mute, even Duncan didn't show any emotions(but thats a bit understandable since he almost didn't know them).
and just because someone likes a game it does not mean they are stupid or retarded, you don't like it? thats fine by me just don't start insulting people who do like it, just like on of the dev's said(I dont remember he's name): keep it civil.

You're completely right. Everything should just homogenize towards the action genre.
Progress!
I agree with the OP, I think they should have gone with a new title, keeping the "old school" appeal of the first for a proper sequel, and giving the people who want a medieval fantasy action game something as well, instead of trying to mash the two together.
This is entirely incomprehensible to me. If BioWare is going to make a game that you are not interested in, what difference does it make what name it has? I didn't play Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, cause I 've never had a console, nor did it seem like my cup of tea, but it certainly doesn't bother me in the least that it's called Baldur's Gate, the same name as games that I've played for years. I honestly don't see, nor can I understand, why it would. Clearly, you're not getting the game you want to play, but what is the point in asking for the game that you are getting to be set in a different setting? This certainly does not change DA:O at all.

Exactly how I feel. To me, questions like "Is this game an RPG or an action/adventure game?" are meaningless. As we've seen in this thread, attempting to give a definitive answer to that question is. . . not easy.
I would rather ask "Is this game fun?" After all, isn't having fun the point of playing any game? Well, arguably not. I know some people who would say the point of playing any game is to win, but I digress. In my opinion, the DA2 demo was fun, and I am looking forward to playing the full game.

You're not weird. I too liked them all though I think each had areas that I liked better than others. From what I've seen of the DA:2 demo, I don't really see a reason why it won't be, yet another, amazing BioWare creation.
Course, the exploding animation with the blood is a bit, unnecessary.

Not saying you are a troll. I was replying to your post only.
I don't like the misproportioned women either. But it does not make game less of an RPG. I don't like Isabella. I burst out laughing whenever I see her.
Kung Fu moves are a matter of opinion. I like it, you don't.
Dialog options have been limited but there still is a choice.
The game still is an RPG.
