Funny because i wouldn't say that since i think your opinion is as valid as mine even though i disagree (strongly) i'm not one of those "i'm right you're wrong" ***holes who believe everyone should think the same if you don't like DA2 then don't buy it no one is forcing you to buy it oh and that goes to every other naysayer out there go complain if it makes you feel better i'm not saying you can't i believe in freedom of speech but don't try to get in the way of me enjoying DA2 because then we'd have a problemNiHau wrote...

Agreed bioware have never let me down on any of their games and they can say it's "constructive criticism" but all i see is nitpicking DA2 plays exactly like origins. Seems people are determined to hate any game bioware makes and when they try to change it they complain even more guess bioware can't wintez19 wrote...

Or maybe we just do not nitpick and obsess over minor details of a game because we have better things to do in our lives?
All i want from my bioware game is what i always get, A quality story with quality characters and a journey to remember.
oh nihau yust go and STFU i will:wizard:
Why couldn't you just pursue a different game series?

Tooly McToolbag says...
(Insert haughty voice)
What has happened to BioWare? I recently played the demo and upon doing so, I was most discouraged. I was unable to keep up with the speed of the combat which indubitably means that it has been dumbed down (have to insert key phrases). Furthermore, while I have no experience in game production myself, my 30+ years of gaming have made me an obvious expert at making successful games and it is quite obvious that this will not be a successful game. Not that it should be mind you as high sales numbers invariably mean that the game has been made for the lowest common denominator (remember key phrases) and would not be worthy of my time.
In summation, I believe that this game is utter garbage based on my 30 minute demo playthrough. I shall be canceling my pre-order post haste and surely, I will be only one of the millions of betrayed RPG fans who will be doing the same. My palette will only be reserved for the truly mature fare, such as the Witcher. In the mean time, I will make the entirely reasonable request of having BioWare refund my pre-order forthwith. What's that? They aren't selling me the game? Oh you poor simpleton! When we intellectuals make our demands, we get them without question!
Sincerely,
Tooly McToolbag

Sorry I dissagree 100%. Graphics look great IMO. Course when I was 7 I stood in line for the Original Legend of Zelda, so by today's standards, I am more...open. Second they improved combat, yes combat needed to be more action orientated, if you want it to slow down....find a JRPG. If you can't stand it, go with auto attack. So far this game is superior to the original in every way, at least from the console point of view.
Agreed. I've been playing RPG's since I got a NES for Christmas when I was 10 and I'm just not bothered by these changes. Nor do I fail to see how it's still an RPG. RPG's have gone through many changes over the years and you just have to learn to get used to the fact that games evolve and change.
DA2 is still an RPG and is very similar to DA:O. The only things that are different are the animations, the graphics, the UI, and the dialogue wheel. You can still choose tactics for yourself and your crew, you can still pause and play if you so choose. You still level up, increase your attributes and skills, and progress your character. You still have a main quest and sidequests and the ability to change the outcome of events dependent solely on your choices.

And more importantly, graphics don't matter at all......at all.......if it doesn't have solid gameplay, and it does.
How can you say it has no rpg elements, when 3/4 of EVERYTHING in the demo was locked.
@OP - complain when the game comes out, actually nevermind, don't complain at all no one wants to hear it

1) We didn't pursue a different series because we're the ones who made the first game in the series and this is the direction *we* wanted to take it in. I imagine there's always going to be people in any ongoing series that don't like what the creators have in mind. Not too much we can do about that-- you'll have to decide for yourself if you want to come along. There's lots of fun in store.
2) Enough with the hostility, people. If you don't like the tone of a post, don't chime in and add even more vitriol. If it's that terrible, report it and we'll deal with it ourselves. Silly nonsense like some of the stuff that's been pulled here will get people banned.
Thanks for the attention.

Before you begin to formulate a respose, read my signature again. The key part is that it reads "people are stupid." You are people, as am I. We believe what we believe because we either want it to be true or because we are afraid it is true. The people who think DA2 will be worse are in that latter category. They are afraid it will be true.
Before you think of a witty comeback, read it again. "People are stupid." Stop formulating opinions before you have enough evidence to make valid opinions, eg. playing the complete, FINISHED game.
Peace, cheers, all the good stuff!

I do write myself (not exactly fantasy anymore, but I do on occasion). So, if I created a world, I'd want to explore that as thoroughly as I can.
Really, there's no justification needed on your part as to why you decided to make a sequel. It's because you wanted to, as simple as that.
I just hope you folks have cooked up enough branching paths in the game, to allow for enough choice and consequences in terms of shaping how things play out with the ten year narrative.

And why is it that you wanted to turn dragon age 2 into a dragon effect? People liked dragon age just fine and one of the reason they liked it was because it was different and not mass effect. I can't understand why you want to dumb down something that does not need to be dumbed down to be succesful.
