Yes they ruin so much giving a bigger budget to work with.
They may give a bigger budget, but they have every right to control the project they're funding. Publishers like EA put unnecessary time restraints on developers, trying to money as fast as they can. This often results in a worse, less polished product. I can tell you right now that DA2 would be a
very different game if BioWare wasn't with EA. Much better too.
But in reguards to the OP... I kind of agree with you. I was rather mixed on the demo myself, but as one guy said on the first page, the demo felt like a combat, and dialogue wheel showcase, nothing else. When I was playing the demo, It didn't feel like I was playing a sequel really, I felt like I was playing a 'reboot' to the series. Honestly thats what it seems they're trying to do, to appeal to the masses. I'm assuming that the full game will have a much bigger RPG element to it. If it doesnt, well then, I'll be extremely dissapointed.
I'm fine with the new combat, DA:O did need some changing to it here and there, but not as drastic as this. But it's fun nonetheless.
