I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that English is not your first language. Nothing wrong with that at all. Just I never know what point you are making much less what you are saying.

LOL thanks for giving me so much laugh with your posts. Define the RPG of yours in terms of DA2 mechanics.

dang yus't because my grammar sux how can i explain it to you that this is "Dragon efect 2" ? not "dragon age 2 the RPG?"

Oh you simpletons!!! We intellectuals know the true values of rpgs. Not you!!!! Better combat? Preposterous!!!! Combat should be dull and slow in order to scare off the Halo riff-raff. This fast combat is clearly inferior if I, the aforementioned intellectual, am unable to keep up. Furthermore, the graphics in the original game are clearly superior to this plebian fare!!! What's that? No, don't question me!!! I'm the intellectual here!!!!

Yes they ruin so much giving a bigger budget to work with.

They may give a bigger budget, but they have every right to control the project they're funding. Publishers like EA put unnecessary time restraints on developers, trying to money as fast as they can. This often results in a worse, less polished product. I can tell you right now that DA2 would be a very different game if BioWare wasn't with EA. Much better too.

But in reguards to the OP... I kind of agree with you. I was rather mixed on the demo myself, but as one guy said on the first page, the demo felt like a combat, and dialogue wheel showcase, nothing else. When I was playing the demo, It didn't feel like I was playing a sequel really, I felt like I was playing a 'reboot' to the series. Honestly thats what it seems they're trying to do, to appeal to the masses. I'm assuming that the full game will have a much bigger RPG element to it. If it doesnt, well then, I'll be extremely dissapointed.

I'm fine with the new combat, DA:O did need some changing to it here and there, but not as drastic as this. But it's fun nonetheless.

It's not just your grammar, it's your spelling. "yus't" isn't even a word.
Also whether the game is good or not is an opinion, and if others like then no amount of bashing it is going to change their minds.

I totally agree with the OP

Every time a game wins or gets nominted for RPG of the  year but isnt a massive blockbuster sales monster

They attempt to main stream the game and it just strips the RPG out of it

It wont stop till the RPG people refuse to buy stripped down games but its not likely to happen

Sigh

DAO = ME

DA2 = ME2

Please either keep the RPG portions of the game or just strip them out and make a diablo game

What you are saying is that it is not an RPG to you. It is an RPG to me. RPGS all have different elements that make them RPGS and all these elements are important to some people and not others.

Some people like stats and tables.
Some people like roleplaying and never actually role a dice.
Some people consider anything where you play a role other than your self is role-playing.. go figure...
To some its NPC interaction
To some its your armor looking different. To some rpgers its only the stats of the armor the look never changes.
Some people swear by turn based and some by real time.

The list goes on forever my friend. And some of these are important to others while some are not.

So yes. You are right. This is not a RPG to you.

And yes I am right. This is a RPG for me.

presquels are sometimes bad out short than the first. like FU2 which I was confused about. what a waste of me money. but DA2 yeah its kind of like making awakening I think. this kirkwall is like playing the game only in Denerim city. not felling like exploring the world of dragon age like exploring the rest of fereldon.

I really doubt the graphics in the demo are dramatically different than what they will be in the release. They give the option for DirectX 11, anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, and I was able to set my resolution at 1920 x 1080. What you are seeing now, is what you will get. The fact that it's a demo, doesn't mean they are slapping a different graphics engine on the release. I can't see the future, through the veil of time, but I can see through the veil of B.S. excuses.

Look at the templar armor. That for me, was perhaps the biggest obvious contrast in graphics and texture detail, between DA:O and DA2.

Better is a subjective opinion. So are the merits of communism. My opinion happens to be that less texture detail, blockier shapes, and poor collision detection where body parts just "meld" together, equate to inferior graphics. And also, communism sucks.

I really hate when developers take a beloved game and decide to make a sequel that feels like a cheap cashing in of the original.  This is one of those instances.

I mean why would you create a sequel with inferior graphics to the original?  What is the reasoning for that?  Why take a game with strong RPG elements, and make a sequel that plays out more like an action game?  It's like how Paramount tried to make Star Trek cool again by making Kirk a 20-something and skipping all the dialog that makes it a space opera.

When you try to "mainstream" a series that didn't start as mainstream, then you just lose the people who really loved the original; and the mainstream won't touch it, because they relate the sequel to the original game that they never considered playing.

Couldn't you have just made this game and given it a different title, with no lore references to Dragon Age?

If you're not willing to put in the time to make a sequel that lives up to its predecessor (and don't pretend this is an attempt to do just that), then please just move on to a different project.

Errr, WHAT? Did you say inferior graphics? Maybe you should do some research before coming up with silly things like that!

I think this becomes about opinions and preferences. There is no right or wrong. You either like it or you don't. I happen to like the new direction of DA2 (it's not even that different seriously) and no I don't want to play Origins v2.0. I can just play Origins if I wanted that~

but other than that. the demo made me feel this game is awesome. even though I reordered signature edition. I hope this will be in a sliding paperslip case like Red dead redemption limited eedition.

That is the most sense i've ever seen on these forums it's amazing some people don't realise that not everyone likes the same thing and that a RPG doesn't mean the same thing to everyone *sigh*

Risky. They have a huge following with Origins and they know that we most likely will buy it no matter what they do. If they developed a new IP with no following with the crap they're trying to pull now, they have a higher risk of flopping.

Seriously, you sound like a douche...

It's about preference and you can't just insist that an RPG has to be a certain way.
