The person who voted no deserves a kick up the backside.

True.. but who in their right mind would not want a toolset for the game? maybe it was a console user who voted no or something:?

Bump.

If you're a console player. Don't vote no just for the sake of it. Just don't vote since this probably won't effect you unless you are planning on getting it for the pc at a later date.

Do you understand what a poll is? A poll with two options "yes" or "no" allows for two answers - anybody? That's right; "yes" or "no". You can't just tell people not to bother if they're going to say no!

As if this will make Bioware's decision anyway - it will be down to time and money. If there is time available to convert the toolset from an internal to an external tool, and it won't cost too much to do so, it will be released. Otherwise, it won't.

Stupid poll. Obviously, anyone who has use for a toolset will want it. It's not a mandatory feature so "no" is hardly a legitimate option. There's no good reason to say "no."

I think they're withholding the toolset for the purpose of promotional content such as exclusive swords and shields. Probably for the same reason there isn't any for Mass Effect so they can throw out a few companion outfits and make a quick buck. I hope I'm wrong but it isn't far from the truth.

not only do I want a toolset, I need a toolset!

or at least, I need talented modders to have a toolset. I'll give it a go myself but probably make a mess

This thread doesn't really mean anything. All it means is "We want more free content!" Well, yeah, sure.

I mean, believe you me, I really, really want a toolset. But it's not really useful data.

telling BioWare (or EA) what we want is never pointless, and is in fact a large part of why these forums exist

Yeah, Bioware is a company that really cares for its community. So hopefully there'll be a new toolset or updated toolset, as Seb Hanlon of Bioware did mention in one of the threads about toolsets for Dragon Age 2 that its also possible that it'll be a brand new toolset, instead of just an updated toolset.

Some theories are that Bioware won't release a toolset out of fear that their DLC won't sell.

Well, I used the toolset and mods, but I also bought all their DLC.

Hmm, if there could only be a "yes" option, so it could act more like a petition rather than some occasional fools voting no.

For what it is worth, I think the poll does serve a useful purpose; if nothing else it keeps our desire for a tool set in the developer's minds. I think they already know a lot of fans want a toolset so we are telling them nothing new.

However, corporate decisions are complex things with many factors that go into the final "yea" or "nay." If thousands of forum users vote "yea" that is data that can be used in our favor (though I doubt most people will respond for the same reason most people do not vote - it is easier to do nothing than to do something...)

If nothing else, maybe it will convice the "powers that be" to at least release something that can be used with the existing toolset to mod armor, weapons, faces, hair, etc. So thanks for making the poll and let's encourage as many people to vote "yea" as possible. Doing something productive, even if there is not a direct and immediate payoff, is usually better than doing nothing - and then complaining.
