I'm getting music, and that's it. Anything sounds like it's being transmitted via tin cans and string. I've checked the "Force Stereo" box but that's not helping. Did I miss something?

I'm using the 'Force Stereo', because I have hearing problems and invariably use headphones. All I can say is that all chanels are working fine and the base is well balanced in the demo.
I have had some apps that mess up my sound settings in the past. This is usually fixed by running the audio manager and resetting things. A reboot might also be worth trying

I'll have to get back to this. It seems my computer has a very picky sound setup. I don't know what's going on. Too many options.

Ah, at least it was simple. I updated the sound drivers, and when that didn't work I did what my wife suggested and swapped headphones. Turns out my headphones had gone bad.
