I've beaten the demo twice as male Hawke and once as female Hawke on 360 and noticed some strange differences in the demo. Not bugs, just weird design choices for the demo. When watching scenes between Varric and Cassandra she has black hair. But after I beat the demo and it plays the montage, Cassandra has white hair in the montage. Is this just a difference between the final build and earlier builds or is she somehow customizable?
Also, no matter which sibling dies in the ogre attack, in the montage between the first half and the second half of the demo it shows Carver in the montage. I also read somewhere (can't remember where) that if you play male your sister dies and if you play female your brother dies, but the demo is opposite. I really want to know about this because I would rather have Bethany in my party. At least for my first play-through.
On a related side note... why did BioWare decide to make the hottest female companion Bethany, therefore making romance impossible (and just disgusting)?

From what I understand it depends on your class, not your gender.
If you're a mage than your sister dies, but if you're a warrior/rogue the brother dies.
Everything else is pretty weird.

Who dies depends on class not gender.
Montage was cheap/quick way of doing the demo (and the quality of the montage is much lower resolution as you notice). I'm sure it was done one afternoon trying to do all 6 play throughs at once. I think I would have prefers a sharper jump with less explanation.
I think Cassandra has changed apperance over all and that beginning is either the new or old look (hard to say). It could perhaps mean that the intro we're playing has been changed. I wouldn't mind that as I felt the death scene was under played (though it's hard to pull off so early in the game).

My three play-throughs where male rogue, male warrior, and female mage. So I'll have to try doing male mage and see if Bethany dies.
I did notice the quality disparity between the montage at the end and everything else, but the middle montage looked to be the same quality as the conversation cut-scenes and gameplay. I just thought it was weird to have Carver in the middle montage regardless of events when they took the time to have the correct class and gender for Hawke in the middle montage.

I think the demo isn't really concerned with consistency, hence the montage shots that show Carver when he was killed earlier. The point is to show gameplay and the dialog system.
Now, I can agree completely that Bethany is the most attractive female in the game..

When you first arrive at Kirkwall after Flemeth..

I was wondering about something Flemeth said. I can't remember which dialogue option I chose, think it was about going to Kirkwall, she asks if I will abandon my King or something close to it. Calian is dead by that point and that's way before Alistair. >> Or did I just interpret it wrong?
