what if you end the curse? That wouldn't make much sense, unless they came up with another explanation for it. The werewolves are cool, but I hate "lorelols"

Werewolves are always tied to a curse as far as we've seen in Dragon Age. Whether its the Curse that
It has to do with Demons, however.
On that note, a Werewolf serving you would not be entirely unplausible. There just be reasoning enough for him/her to control their rage and whatever it is that drives their nature.
For the TL;DR folks, Werewolves without breaking the Brecilian Forest lore are possible. Just unlikely.

That and maybe a vampire guy/girl, A demon companion (like a desire demon maybe), and maybe a baby dragon?
I think a new class and race would be nice too.

DRAGON AGE ORIGINS
DLC Quest Ideas
First idea: Revenge of The Beast: Story starts off in a small village. There is this very beautiful and powerful healer by the name of Vivian. The very egotistic leader of the village Mormareil's son Richard becomes very ill.So he sends for Vivian to heal his son in which she does, but in the process he makes an advance on her in which she disapproves and quickly leaves from his home. The very upset Mormareil acuses her of being a whitch and hexing him and sends a strong templar by the name of Brock to investigate. Apon investigating this so called witch the two quickly become infatuated with one another. Brock reports back to Mormareil that she is no whitch and accuses him of false accusations. The furrious Mormareil hires assasins to take care of the two of them. On the way to visit his beloved Vivian, Brock is attacked by Mormareil's thugs. He makes quick work of the thugs and rushes to his beloved one's home to find Vivian wounded on the floor surrounded by dead assasins and family members. He quickly rushes to her an cradles her, and with her last bit of strength she gives him an ammulet filled with her father's cursed blood, and told him that her father was a werewolf. She told him that more of Mormareil's men would come and he needed the strength of a beast to stop them, and with her dying breathe told she him she loved him. He drinks the blood and changes into the monster with hair as black as night and eyes as red as fire.He then ventures forth with a heart full of vengence to Mormareil's home. Your character enters the town and sees smoke and fire and panicing villagers. You quick run to the source of the fire the find the beast fighting of a hord of Mormareil's men , and then you look into the beast's eyes and see a vision of his pain of what happened and the you can choose to help the men in slaying the beast for a small reward or help Brock ( now Black Fang) in defeating his foes and loot the Mormareil's home.
After helping Black Fang he will then join your party.
Second idea: Tomb of Fire: This one is short and sweet. Your character comes across a tomb they enter, fight through a hord of undead, do the fire ritual, and receive the sword of dragon fire!!!

not to be rude, but these guy's at bioware are doing this stuff for a living. I can hardly imagine that they are in desperate need of ideas :\\
also it is really disturbing how people are giving me the feeling that by shooting off their ideas the most work for their wanted dlc would be done....

I think that a new playable races would be awesome in the next DLC.
Maybe make the Qunari, or maybe a Lycan. but one of two new races with some new origins.
Just my take on it, I remember playing through the game thinking wounder why they did not
make the Qunari a playable?

I think playing as a werewolf would be kinda cool, well it all depends on how its done. Though I think a new explanation would have to be thought up if you got rid of the curse, but otherwise would be a bit of fun.

I'm not sure how powerful the toolset is, but most of what you guys are talking about could be done in some imaginative way using the toolset. That's kinda the idea of giving us the toolset, so we can come up with our own DLC with our own ideas. That is also one of the reasons they have this site set up like they do, so you can communicate with other modders to make really outstanding original content. If you like your ideas so much, try playing around with the toolset. I plan to after I finish a few playthroughs.

Also, if you read carefully when the elves are explaining the situation, there are other werewolves in other places, but the werewolves in this area are from the curse. Granted, I haven't finished the quest yet, so I may still not fully understand the story, but I have started it and I remember being told this.

I know that there is already a mod that allows you to shapeshift into a werewolf, and also grants you werewolf abilities.

the curse was only for the werewolves in that one place. They do talk of there being other werewolves in other places not connected to the curse.

I think it's a good idea ;-).
Off-topic: what about a Desire Demon as a new companion, with a romance option!

why not have a shaved flying monkey with a banana daiquiri in its hand?
#23
Posté 12 janvier 2010 - 02:28
There are no monkeys nor bananas in Thedas. Werewolves, on the other hand, are.
And like was already pointed out, not all of them origin from Brecillian curse.
It would be perfectly valid plot if a werewolf from some other place came looking for you, seeking revenge for "slaughter" of the Brecillian pack (doesn't matter what you actually did with the quest - the guy just heard a rumor that there are no more werewolves in Brecillian forest, and the warden is responsible for it). After he attacks you and you defeat him, we could have a variation of Zevran's story - tie him up and talk him into joining you.
Alternatively, a random person from a random village could come to you asking you to help her/his son/boyfriend/brother, who is acting strangely scared lately. It turns out the son/boyfriend/brother is a werewolf, and after hearing about there being no more werewolves in Brecillian forest, he got the idea that you are a vicious werewolf hunter and he's fearing for his life because you're in the area.
After talking him down, you can talk him into joining you.
(Damn. Now I have to fight the urge to write fanfiction..)
