Tempest, I honestly don't believe there are 1 billion people outside of Earth (maybe I'm wrong) I think the highest human population I've seen on one planet is Beckenstein, and that's only 55 million (I think). Humanity is VERY early in its colonization effort, and most of its population is on Earth, as opposed to the Turians, Asari, and Salarians, who have had colonies for centuries. Also, in order for the human population to bounce back like that you would serious pro-natalist government policies and I doubt after the fall of Earth that a strong centralized human government could just pop-up and implement such a plan thoughout dozens of far-off colonies.

Maybe Shephard's big gift to the galaxy is to sell his...stuff to a sperm bank, while female Shephard is impregnated by Joker.:crying::P

I could care less about Earth but I would do pretty much anything to save Omega.

And Renegade Shephard would only save the United States and it's allies, but let the other countries and people burn. Renegade Shephard is more of the, "I'm an American. Hoorah! I live in America! Hoorah!" type characters.

At least we can own guns to kill husks with.
Oh snap.

That's why they attacked London. You can't even carry pepper spray in the UK. . .

Thats where Arthur Dent lives. The Reapers, an alien race, intend to destroy Earth to make way for a hyperspace bypass.

Save the Earth, been there done that. For ME3 I'm hoping for something a little grander in scale, something exotic.

I've been trying to avoid answering this question... but yes, i guess my Shepard's would save the Earth. However, I'm hoping were not JUST saving Earth.

Now, if I was able to, with better resources, I would save as many children <13 years old. Anything past that and there are high chances they have been ingrained with their parents "influence". I would use the resources to both save them AND fund an orphanage to give them proper education. Not in the form of grades, but to make sure they are both wise and smart. So people who want to live a simple life are as respected as those who live on the "fast lane". So yeah, save part of the world if I have the resources, but if not than o well, there are better planets to save.

Defeating the Reapers is the first priority. But second would definitely be saving the Earth.

If the Earth is wiped clean of human life, humanity is finished as a major player in the galaxy. Humanity is still very new as a spacefaring species, and such the vast majority of it's population was born on, and still lives on Earth. Even Terra Nova, the largest human colony in terms of population, has a population of 4 million people. In other words there are less people living on that entire planet than there are people than living today in modern day New York City.

The loss of Earth would result in most of the human species being wiped out. It would also result in the collapse of the Alliance's economy. Most of Earth's colonies would still be dependant upon the mother planet economically.

In short if Earth were destroyed the Humans would go from being one of the most powerful species in the galaxy to one of the weakest. Without the Council protecting the Humans the Batarians would probably also retake all the disputed territory in the Verge and elsewhere.

Does it make a bad person if I say NO.

It's not that I want earth to be destroyed because I don't but I really don't want ME3 to be about saving Earth or Humanity. I feel that it would really hurt ME3's story if the big bad Reaper threat that is supposed to be a threat to everything in the Galaxy has been reduced to the school yard bully picking on Humanity because it has a grudge against the species. It's thinking small and one of my main compaints about ME2 is the fact that the Collector threat is only a threat to humanity, it's hard to feel a sense of scale and urgency when it's just humanity that being picked on when in ME1 the story line was being built up that the Reapers were going to destroy everything.

No one believed anything I said about the reapers and they still don't. I'm going to send one email to the council; "Reapers are coming = :X. Peace out" , and then I'm going and hiding somewhere.

If I have to choose between Earth and the rest of the Galaxy then sorry but Earth is getting sacrificed.
