One word describes the new look: Skeletor.

I hate the new look for the darkspawn. They went from being a very nightmarish look to just looking like a bunch of skeletors dancing around on the screen. Is this a preview of what is to come in the final product? A toning down of the mature rated content in the game?

One of my favorite parts in DAO is what I consider one of the most disturbing non-horror genre levels in a video game; the entire level containing the broodmother and that greatly disturbing poem (Forgive me I forgot the name of the area). I was hoping bioware would continue the darker, mature path.

They went from Orcs and Goblins to diseased looking corpse fiends (Which is what they are). So, I for one welcome our new fabulous dark spawn overlords.

They look like Skeletor from Masters of the Universe. I have to like them.

I like the change mainly because you can actually see how they are corrupted humans/other races. I like how they look in origins as well, but since certain races produce certain darkspawn (humans = hurlocks, dwarves = genlocks, etc... as far as I remember) I like seeing that hint of former humanity in there. To me it makes them more frightening... to see what becoming tainted could do to you.

I prefer the old look(it looked like just touching them would make me catch it), but I've grown to accept and even like the new look a bit.

Still miss the genlocks though.

They walk like people dressed as apes from Planet of the Apes, the Marky-Mark version.

Hopefully we won't deal too much with the Darkspawn in this one. They look really dumb. (Not like they looked that great to begin with).

Ogre's look okay at least.

Darkspawn in Origins looked to much like carbon copy Orcs from LOTR, so im glad they're more distinct now.

They could have done a better job than a dancing skeletor. I dont argue against changing the model to look more like the races they come from. I am arguing that the current models are terrible, childish I would even go as far to say.

The old darkspawn does not look like a dancing version of an antagonist from a children's cartoon? While the old darkspawn looked a lot like traditional enemies from a fantasy world they were at least worthy of all the fear and nightmares the darkspawn are said to be capable of.

I have no problem with wanting them to look more distinct, but as they are now, they look like they are unfinished.... Seriously it's like their pink/pale skin  is missing its texture. Almost like it's a placeholder or empty texture, and I don't think I'll ever be able to get passed that. They're almost laughibly comical enemies now, similar ito the endless Putties from the original power rangers.

Also, the bluish ogres were far superior to these white pale things.

Explain dancing, I see no dancing.

The closest thing I see to dancing is the way hawke's nice child bearing hips sway back and forth when she moves... mmm....

I don't mind the new hurlocks, haven't seen any genlocks, or shrieks though.

I'm a big fan of the new emissaries, they're so tall & spindly. And the bindings look cool.

I will say I sorta hate the new ogre though.
