I know being a jerk with her until she opens up about her past and such and being nice? Like being a jerk at the start after meeting the illusive man then warming up to her later as she opens up about her past.

You can choose whatever you like until you get her loyalty mission. Nothing locks you out of her loyalty mission, as far as I know, and her romance does not initiate until after her loyalty mission.

Ok thanks. May change my mind on my renegade love interest though. Been making a backstory for my male shepard and may have him fall in love with Jack instead. One thing i always did like was making backstories for my characters.

Renegade Romancing Miranda is very fulfilling in a James Bondish sort of way. Just do her loyalty and tell her she's jealous. You'll see what I mean.

If you choose to kiss her, it counts as renegade, for some stupid reason

Generally its only the neutral dialogue options which will bring a romance to an end, not the renegade ones.

I was just playing around with the convos, but did anyone else know you can do this? Not directly after her loyalty mission, but the next time you talk to her you can kiss her.

Here's how:

1) When she lists all the resources the Illusive Man has provided you with, don't choose the "And you" option, choose "You sound unhappy."

2) "You always bring that up."

3) "You're jealous."

I won't spoil the rest, but it made her romance so much more awesome. I love the different options aren't basically the same thing just with different tone.

Now that I think about it, do they even kiss in the engine room?

I highly recommend this.  Choosing this option replaces the lame "admire your body" dialogue and turns the scene into one of the best romance scenes in the game.
