Mages

Mages in Dragon Age II deal in raw power, whether sapping, bestowing, or inflicting it. They have incredible tactical potential, a fact underscored by how doggedly they are hunted by the Templars. Versatile and devastating, an apostate mage lives a dangerous life in Kirkwall, but he or she is more than capable of handling the risk posed by the over-tasked authorities.

After all, who doesn't love someone who can summon fire from the sky or the dead from the ground? ;)

Check out the new mage screenshots in the DA2 gallery

I feel they're under-powered, not so much in power but in quantity and quality and evolution of abilities.

I also feel that I'll be whacking away with that staff all day... which is not how I played Dragon Age as a mage...

Cool stuff.

Too bad Hawke's robes still look awfully drab. Hopefully we get some nice headgear, at the very least...

I've heard rumors of skullcaps, so that is a must-have for every self-respecting mage.

Mage screenshots would be nice to view provided the gallery actually worked correctly.

Mages are as cool as ever, I see. :D

Gah, I have no idea what specs I'm taking...I loved playing as a blood mage in Origins, but I want to try being a Spirit Healer...but Force Mage looks really interesting, too...

At least without the inclusion of multiple races, it might be easier for me to have at least one of each class this time around... If we're still stuck with limited numbers of characters slots...

It works just fine, are you sure it's not something to do on your end? Try a differant web browser.

Mages rule, warriors drool  Image IPB

Plan A was always to play a blood mage on my first run, and I'm only more enthused about that after seeing the animation changes that make the class more physical.  I love a good spellsword.

I'm not happy that the number of spells have been cut down, though.  I assume that was necessary because more detail was given to the animations, but variety is always better.

In the demo, it takes a while for normal spells to recharge and the staff does virtually no damageImage IPB

Huh. Weird that the mabari was included. I understand that's not a mage talent, but it looks funny.
