Mmm, yeah, thanks I guess?  Doesn't look like he did anything at all except a REALLY CRAPPY Blood Wound that only paralyzes the main target and only damages those around the target.

And then he died...

Yeah but at least it's something. The last spell could be a force mage spell

But croc
isn't hawk holding a 2H weapon instead of a staff
Does DA2 have weapons for the mage?

Err, so then what are we looking at, and why is this actually relevant to PC Blood Mage skills?  I'm also thinking that Hawke is using a Reaver ability.  All I'm seeing the enemy do is get paralyzed, and then releases "whatever" on top of an already near death Hawke.

Unless what we are seeing is the Blood Mage casting two spells at the start, and they remain stationary while the spell is active, and it's draining Hawke's life until the end when he explodes.

You can't unlock specializations using the developers console, so reaver is out of the question. I just thought it was a neat little find from the thread.

It's true. Peter, Mike and Gaider have all said as much here and there.

Ok. So we all saw the Destiny trailer. Who else is going to spec their Mage!Hawke for melee combat and rock out? Depending on how stats and armour works, I may end up pumping points into strength, magic and constitution so I can lay the smackdown.

Don't blame me for using your class wrong, Bioware! YOU'RE the ones that gave mages such badass melee animations!

Shapeshifter is gone and so is the arcane warrior... that is not good.

Believe it or not I passed DA:O on hard (not nightmare nope tho hard is still viable as possible) as a full melee team of Me as a dual wield warrior, sten as 2hander reaver, oghren as 2hander guardian//bers and zevran as dual//assa///duelist.

So all that forcing you into tankin//healer//dps etc is only if you wanted it to be that way.

Yeah, and it really seems slapdash too.

http://social.biowar...1/index/6116921

The biggest boon is 1-2 tanking abilities for Stagger and 1-2 cold spells for Brittle.  Otherwise they just aren't worth worrying about.

So all that forcing you into tankin//healer//dps etc is only if you wanted it to be that way.

This is about DA2, not DA:O.  Tanks were worthless in DA:O anyway.  Also, the only reason Nightmare is giving you difficulty is because you have a really suboptimal group for it.  It can be done without a Mage, and by simply inhaling health potions, but dumping one of the Warriors for a Mage would get you through it easily enough.

Dude what are you talkin about? I said that I didn't pass nightmare with this group. It was just to say that you didn't need it back then so why are we forced to have them in this game or at least the game wants us to play it.

I passed the game on nightmare with solo character, warrior and a mage.

Well I am, and yes I'll put points into those 3 as well to get enough to equip armour.

however as a mage ud be investing points into strength which is a bit of a waste.
However i think some armors use con too so its not so bad if ur a blood mage!

Learn to read man, I never said it was to difficult nor that I had problems and then switched to lower difficulty - I just didn't try it with this group and wanted to address that before peopel start qqing its not possible etc.

Don't start making assumptions out of your craphole. Anyways good that we understood each other ~^ back on topic -> Ommission of arcane warrior saddens me since I enjoyed sword'n board mage a lot. Oh well high hopes for blood magic then...

My first char is going to be a female Force Mage, and I cannot wait to get started on that. I loved how visceral the combat is for a mage and that I now can get a lot closer to stuff than I used to.

Hey, how about you, oh I don't know, type what you actually mean then instead of saying one thing and then blowing up because people are reading it as you wrote it, not how you thought it?

Believe it or not I passed DA:O on hard (not nightmare nope tho hard

"Not nightmare nope" -- which means you have not beaten it with that group yet.  If you had stopped there, it could be assumed that it was either too hard for you with that group OR that you simply had not bothered.  But no, you continue with "tho hard is still viable as possible".  This statement claims that Nightmare is not viable or possible.  Being a "r3Al c00l dud3" to cover up your inadequate communication skills doesn't impress anyone either.
