Edit: apparently, there was a bad word in my previous spelling for the nerf-thing.

Mage looks good. Seriously miss AW, but the Mage Champion armor looks amazing. Don't like the ner****e, wish they'd stuck to buffing warrior and rogue, but it looks fairly mild. Probably much less of a problem once the mage picks up a few levels, if the demo is anything to go by. As for specializations, Spirit Healer/Force Mage FTW.
Where can I find the picture(s) of champion armour(s)?

Pretty much any official image of the mage. That's it on the Mage page on the DA II site. Do want.Mr. Gerbz wrote...

Ah thank you, wasn't aware those were the champion outfits. It certainly doesn't look bad, but I hope we'll get other outfits which are just as good for the sake of variety, instead of this being the ultimate outfit.

Anyhow the mage in DA2, oh my, it made me happy all the way down in the pants area. Force mage looks like it could be cool, and I can't wait to see what you've done with Blood Mage. The brief look we got of the Spirit Healer tree, in the gamespot showing, looked solid as well, but I've always preferred to deal out as much death as possible and leave the healing to someone else - as the enemies can't hurt me when they're dead.
It's also a class of... odd strategies, as I realized when I once said that a good combo for the mage, in Dragon Age, was to spray enemies with your CoC, and finish them with your fist. The response was something like: "okay, that just sounds wrong *giggle*."
Sisters I tell you, can't get their minds out of the gutter... or it that just mine? I mean it's the same one whose first comment about DA2, when she was playing the demo, was "Um, I don't think I know how to control this game... *Bethany comes on* Holy **** she's got huge boobs! lol!"... Oh no, wait a minute, she did slander the mage first, saying she didn't want a silly stick - and that a big sword looks way cooler... nonsense I say.

I will probably spec Anders in lightning or spirit damage, probably just taking spirit bolt and all 3 walking bombs, but mostly CC glyphs, buffs, and healing.

I'll probably spec him to resemble his Awakening appearance. I'll give him some ice spells for offence, but he'll the supporter of my party. Healing and buffing my squad.choochoo37 wrote...
I will probably be a mage and also use Anders, so I was intending to be deeps and have Anders be a buffer and supporter while also doing some deeps. I'll probably get most all of elemental and check out blood mage. If I have more points, I will probably look into force mage, or perhaps some entropy for hexes, or perhaps crushing prison.

I love playing mage, but I seem to have a mental block from going on to Bethany's death sequence. Something to do with being a twin brother.

Aim: there's something seriously wrong with Fireball/Firestorm/other multitarget spells, because you have to aim Fireball at a living target, and that requires some tedious work with your mouse to catch your target correctly. In DA:O, you just aimed and shot.
Tactics: there's something REALLY wrong with tactics windows, which makes it very, very hard to assign tactics correctly. Both conditions and actions are difficult to choose: in DA:O you selected a condition/action easily, now it's nearly impossible to get a condition/action box to "light" correctly. Besides, how are you supposed to choose a simple Enemy:Any condition, the bread and butter of any mage? I couldn't find the "Any" condition, myself.

I hope there's an equal number of armors or even the clothing we start out with. I guess I could pop a few points into strength and use rogue armors (which looked v. cool in the demo) - but without companion outfitting, will we pick up any armor from looting, or just dresses?

Its AOE you have to aim it at the ground not an opponent.Kulyok wrote...

Tactics is glitchy in the demo, Bioware have acknowledged this and have stated it is fixed in the release version.Kulyok wrote...

Tempest is sweet compared to firestorm, it hits all enemies in the radius and does no FF damage on nightmare. Neat considering the latters random shots in the radius. Sure tempest lacks the power of firestorm but i like lightning.
As for earth....wow. What a step up from origins. Rock armor is so much better than sweating pebbles haha. Stonefist is a heavy hitter and petrify works against all enemies (unless there is any immunities). I like the diversity.
For specs im really hoping blood mages get a summon spell. I like the description it sort of hints to me of older origins than just being taught by demons. And heres hoping blood sacrifice targets foes in da2 thatd be sweet.
Force mage sounds pretty neat for CC, and i'll definitely give it a shot.
I was very nearly going to play a reaver first, but im too much of a magic enthusiast haha.
