I think the longest lesson it took me to learn in life was that "nice" is a plus, but it's not a replacement for confident, interesting, fun, romantic, sexy, challenging. Nice isn't even always good. Being a dick is warranted sometimes to stand up for causes you believe in or people you care about.



Aaaanyway I think Alistair is a bit of a softy compared to the Dragon Age world but he's not exactly a world-wise character anyway. It's good Bioware's come up with a male character women seem to like, there's been no shortage of male ideal mates in any game ever hehe.

Because nice boys, such as myself, learned long ago that being nice and sweet RARELY ever gets you a semi-attractive who has also depth and likes romance.

I know plenty of decent guys. Not going to use the term 'Nice because I'm getting tired of its overuse.

Decent guys, that met decent women. But yes, simply being *nice* wont get you anything. Because nice by itself is ****ing boring. Wallpaper is nice, shoes are nice, puppies are nice. Personality, being passionate about something, a bit of empathy and an ability to listen and converse like an adult, a common interest or two, these make for people you can have relationships with.

"Semi-Attractive", Again your going for looks for and then realising their personality doesnt match.

That is so not true. I will wait on the sidelines and pick up the nice guy. They're a pleasure to have around. I've done both ways, and man, oh, man have I regretted leaving the nice guy for the not-so-nice guy. One of my lifelong regrets. Never again. You girls want the bad guys...have at it. It ain't worth it.

Now Alistair...if I could have Alistair...hmmm.... that man could have it any time he wanted. Just look at me. We'd never make it out of the bedroom. Well,not clothed anyway. Sheesh.

This is pretty much spot on. If you're "too nice" of a guy, you'll be tossed into that friend catagory. Never be too nice guys, just be decent. You're a guy, be a guy.

Some of us are, until we meet girls like you who want the kind of guy we are.
Then, after some months, you ask us to stop being so not funny, immature and get on track, like we were when we met...even tho we're the same as we were in the old days...

I've been there mwhahaha and i've moved on...

It is a shame, we cannot gain more Alistair time, that is the reason for fanfiction, and the like. It is so bad for me that my husband is jealous of him, and my husband is handsome. LMAO!

As far as being a "good guy" is concerned, so many girls out there truly are looking for such. But don't just be nice, show them that there is a "romantic" side to you as well so they won't put you in the "friend" category so fast.

I went out with a few jerks in my life before I met my hubby, and he's one of the "nice guys". That's actually what made me fall in love with him...one minute I was chatting with him then BAM! Cupid's arrow. We've been married over 10 yrs and are still going strong.



Oh, and just to stay on topic...
