I thought they said that was gone in 2.
If they didn't make unlimited BP's to go with it I will pout.
Nope, what they've done is made all the useless items you pick automatically go to your junk tab. cuts down on confusion without altogher removing the "realistic" feature of picking up useless crap. i know my first playthrough or two of origins, i always wondered if blank velum and stuff had a use that i hadn't figured out.

although you are obviously joking, that is marginally possible (though not likely the proper explanation)orpheuslupus wrote...
The Architect's plans for the darkspawn apparently had only got as far, at this point, as convincing them to helpfully carry vials of their own blood on themselves for the convenience of any grey wardens that happen to come by and kill them.
This was not his best idea.

Lol. Yeah, if the Architect was spared, Wardens have much greater reason to carry vials of warden blood.orpheuslupus wrote...

Yeah, but I can't see spreading the taint just to make fights easier, especially when there are so many other poisons. That would be pretty reckless. And it wouldn't work. It takes longer than the length of a fight for the taint to take effect.
And yet, as Wesley can attest to, even a non life-threatening blow can garantee a slow and painfull death. Why leave the potential survivor when you can prevent them from returning to the battlefield? Knowing this, I would sure as hell be scared to face Darkspawn in battle if all I have to look forward to is either a quick death, or a slow and terrifying one.
Terror tactics.

Perhaps it is to coat their weapons with it? It is quite lethal after all.Yeah, probably. Unless we learn something new that will explain it.HolyAvenger wrote...
Easter egg referring the first Grey Warden mission surely...
I'm betting it's just an easter egg. but as for in-lore reasoning, it's not that they'd be spreading the taint to make fights easier, it's that they'd be making sure that any potential survivors of darkspawn attacks would end up turning ghoul and seeking out the horde to do ghoul-y tasks like making armor and weapons.

Oh, so you're talking about darkspawn using it. Okay, I thought you were meaning that players might use it on their weapons which would be fairly evil.

No no, you've got it wrong, real men take the blood directly from the Darkspawn, be it from their neck or what have you...While they are still alive of course. Can you imagine what a Darkspawn would think if somebody just grabbed it and started nomming on it's blood?

I love how darkspawn carry vials of their own blood around with them for no apparent reason.
It's in case anyone needs a blood transfusion during the fight. It's kind of like having a darkspawn medic.

thats actually not a terrible idea. the first skill would be a passive one called "warden senses". it would allow you to detect any darkspawn targets of any level (similar to survival from DA:O).
