That screenshot is obviously a fake. As you said, Liara's secretary is sitting behind her, and as a DLC like that would have to take place after the SM, that would mean most likely Liara is the Shadow Broker. Also, I never even downloaded the Arcturus Station DLC from the first game, so I really can't see them putting it in the game without mentioning it before unless you downloaded the DLC.

It isn't that hard to photoshop some text onto a picture.

Arcturus station was not included in any DLC or seen in any of the Mass Effect games so far, it has been mentioned heavily in both games and the books however.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

@nevar

Arcturus is the station where N7 soldiers are trained. It's been thoroughly introduced in both the game and novels.

Oh? Then what was that station DLC in the first game? I thought that was what you were talking about.

edit - Oh I was talking about Pinnacle Station... heh...

I still say that is certainly a fake picture though, and I really doubt they'd have a decision like that be only DLC.

That's Pinnacle station, it's used for combat simulations.  I thought it was an interesting DLC because it added new mission types and objectives in addition to survival-based missions.

I don't expect this is the real plot, although it does fit pretty well in certain ways.<br />

It seems plausible the Batarians could've ended up tangled with the Reaper plot against humans, at least.

Yeah, I can see the Batarians striking a deal with the "devil" (Reapers) given their (or their leadership and all the pi$$ed off mercs we run into) hatred of humanity and especially Shepard depending on your background or if you played BDtS.  Stopping them from nuking the whole colony on Watson in the Omega System might pi$$ them off too.

Cool concept but I doubt ME3's beginning would be designed as DLC-dependent.

The DLC is canon it set's up ME3 you just don't have to play it. It happens either way.

To be perfectly honest, I think the whole "Batarian prisoner" thing is a bad idea, but we'll just have to wait and see what the ladies and gents at Bioware H.Q. have cooking won't we?

I would like to see a return of the scar, but I really don't want to see my Shepard beaten, whipped, or otherwise tortured in any way. If there has to be "torture" it needs to be off screen or otherwise implied. Besides, the imagination can produce more horrors than any dev can produce.

Ultimate sacrifice will probably be an achievement where you complete the DLC. Personally, I hope I get to kill Batarians more often.

Yeah, it makes sense that the achievement would be gained for completing the entire DLC. Who knows though, right?

I'm willing to bet it's a fake. It's identical to the fifth picture here: http://masseffect.co...a/screenshots/7
I'm glad that was a fake.

The only difference is the lack of the Mass Effect 2 logo, but that's easily photoshopped out.

Amazing this thread was a hot topic but once the pics were shown it went silent.

Can someone explain how the "Shepard captured by batarians" talk started?

It started with people finding out about the acheivements through the PS3 patch that leaked the DLC, one of which was "the ultimate sacrifice".  a little speculation hit upon "shepard trapped in a batarian POW camp" might be a good tutorial/prologue sequence.

EDIT: Does anyone know where that picture is taken from?  It looks like Liara's office, but I don't know.
EDIT EDIT: Ah, I see Nyxeris behind him now.  note to self: read all of thread before posting.

I saw the trophy list and description but didn't see the word batarian anywhere.  I take it somebody just brought it up and it went from there.  I dont know why anybody would pick batarians.

I think Krogans are far more likely and far more menacing.  I can easily see some of them having resentment towards Shepard given his decision to destroy the genophage on Virmire.

But despite the destruction of the genophage cure, Wrex, Wreav, and Okeer all express gratitude for your actions on Virmire, calling it a "turning point for the krogan."  Actually that's not quite true - Wreav seems unaware of any actions of yours on Virmire besides killing his brother.  (frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make the connection - he doesn't seem to use his head much) Equally telling, there have been no assassination attempts by krogan at any point since Virmire.  During the first part of ME2, this was justified - everyone thought you were dead.  But after Horizon?  Everyone knows you are alive, and yet, no assassination attempts.  Anyone who has a grievance for Virmire has a window of opportunity every time you land on Tuchanka, and yet, no assassinaton attempts.  After Grunt's loyalty mission, you are too badass to touch, and if the krogan value anything, it is badassery.

People speculate Batarian involvement in the DLC due to several files found in game after the addition of the 2nd appearance pack. These new files were a series of planets in a new system, each planet is under Batarian rule. Another file was of EDI stating that the Batarians will not welcome an Alliance vessel in their system and while the Normandy SR2 is independent, it strongly resembles the well-known SR1 which was an Alliance ship.

You talk like I was speaking for ALL Krogan (eventhough my quote said "some" krogan), which I wasn't.  Right after doing the krogan rite of passage, Gatatog Uvenk was still trying to kill you and Grunt.  I'd say that is pretty much proof that not ALL krogan like Shepard.  You kill PLENTY of krogan throughout the game.  Who's to say one of them can't get a band together and ambush shepard all at once.

As for assassination attempts, he is shepard and EVERY planet he lands on he has people that don't like him.  So he is an assassination risk everywhere.   Plus where he lands on Tuchanka he is close to Clan Urdnot and they were his allies.

Shepard has made plenty of enemies (Blue Suns, Blood Pack and Eclipse) and almost all of them had Krogan so I don't see it as being a stretch at all to think some Krogan would resent Shepard for destroying the genophage.

Only the Blood Pack had Krogan. Well, besides those ones Okeer made for the Blue Suns, but they don't count.
