Theirs only three personalities traits for the wheel. They put icons in the wheel for better understanding. It shouldnt affect the story that much if theirs one or two things that you didnt want him to say. It should be ok for your hawke to say what you think he/she is going to say. If you played mass effect and had issues, well thats why they made it better. The icons cant be that confusing if they are.

If in 20-30 minutes you believe that there are 2-3 "abiguous" options, you should probably be institutionalized. Or at the very least not be allowed to drive. If some of these options are confusing to you, I don't want to be around you when you find Red to be to confusing next to Orange.

While the vagueness is somewhat annoying, it's descriptive enough, and it's better than not knowing what the tone of a comment is. I can't tell you how many times I read a statement in DA:O one way and had someone react to in a completely unexpected way because I interpreted the tone in a different way than the writers.

This.. I'm not the biggest fan of the dialog will either but 7 or so dialog choices that mostly had the same result isn't that much better.

What has happened to BioWare? I recently played the demo and upon doing so, I was most discouraged. I was unable to keep up with the speed of the combat which indubitably means that it has been dumbed down (have to insert key phrases). Furthermore, while I have no experience in game production myself, my 30+ years of gaming have made me an obvious expert at making successful games and it is quite obvious that this will not be a successful game. I shall be canceling my pre-order post haste and surely, I will be only one of the millions of betrayed RPG fans who will be doing the same. My palette will only be reserved for the truly mature fare, such as the Witcher. In the mean time, I will make the entirely reasonable request of having BioWare refund my pre-order forthwith. What's that? They aren't selling me the game? Oh you poor simpleton! When we intellectuals make our demands, we get them without question!
