From what i understand Users with Direct X11 cannot play the demo, meaning we cant complete it and recieve the bonus items when the game comes out, if this is true, then why dont they offer any way to compensate us with DX11

I cannot confirm this, DAII Demo runs just fine on my DX11 rig (HD6950 + Win 7 Ultimate x64) and I was able to complete.

But I read that several people had problems with DX11. If you experience problems, you can deactivate DX11 mode in the Configuration Utility under "Video" and then "Renderer". If you set this to DirectX 9 everything should work fine.

What the **** are you babbling on about? Not only can you play the game on DX9 perfectly even on a DX11 system, but DX11 works fine- barring performance issues.

a) Play it on DX9 and complete it.

B) Play it on DX11 with less FPS and complete it.

Either way, you can complete it.

Assuming that you're not trolling here, I'll answer seriousy:

A) Our cards should be functional with any previous version of DX, including DX9 & DX10, so you can still play the demo.

B) DX11 is not officially supported in the demo, but I was able to turn it on and play anyway (just turn off v-sync).

Correction. Play it on DX11 on Nvidia cards, have it run at 10 fps with glitches up the wazoo and don't complete it. Play it on ATI cards on DX11 and complete it.

I only have a D10.1 Win7 machine and it ran just fine when I clicked on the D11 option in the menu.

Vertical-sync is the thing thats breaking it, as far as I know. Just turn it off in the config menu.

It is as known issue and has been fixed in full version of the game as per  (PC) DirectX 11 is not supported in the demo.  So the answer is no, no one is being punished for having Dx 11, it is simply that the fix is not included in the demo.

Which is a damn shame. As a PC owner, I'd like to know how well the game will run at highest settings before making a purchase.

You obviously don't even have a nvidia card. As I have completed the game many times over with DX11 enabled. It Must run better on a ATI card then according to you.<_<

No. I HAVE an Nvidia card. GTX 460. DX11 rendering was glitchy as hell.<_<

Oddly enough, I have a GTX 295, with an i7 920, and was playing at a steady 30 FPS with Dx11 enabled...

Which is why DX11 is buggered in the demo. Inconsistent performance with regards to Nvidia cards.

True that. Ah well, apparently the full game has everything working well!

As far as I'm aware the GTX 295 does not support DX11, so even if you set it to DX11 in the demo, it would default to DX9, which would explain why you're seeing no issues.

I also ran into the DX11 issue. Even though I set the game to DX11, I still ended up getting a missing DX9 driver error. It is rather weird. I don't understand why BioWare is even using DX9. Someone should tell them that Direct X 9 is about two versions into the past, and they need to catch up with the standards of today.

As I understand it, DX10 cards are, to some extent, DX11 compatible. (Though obviously not fully, otherwise Very High wouldn't be DX11 exclusive.)

DX11 is not even close to being the "standard" of today.

Eh...so people don't know that DirectX is backwards combatible? You have dx10, everything in dx9 will work too. And so on.

I just want to make sure here. I have a DX 10.1 card, but I'm the type of person that likes to play max or near max graphics on a game. Since they said that DX 10 will show most of the stuff, possibly even very high graphics, is it worth spending 100-200 bucks on a new card for this game? Or i should be okay with what I got? Because I'm on the edge of my seat here, thinking about getting a newer card. But I dont wanna buy it and then come to realize, I can get 90 percent of the graphics with my DX10.1 card...

What's odd, is that DA:O didnt even use DX10, and in one year they're jumping to DX11? Wierd, most games still don't even use DX10, why the sudden "skip" to DX11? Regardless, the demo really made it hard to judge, since half of the video options were disabled.

I also was not able to secelt full AA when DX11 renderer was on. It was greyed out, But when I selected DX9, AA became available and then anisotropic filtering became unavailable. What gives?

nvm, seems that most of the stuff will be available with dx10. Which is a nice touch over DAO, which was DX9 only. And in order to get the DX11 extra layer of lighting or "softer" shadows and a bit of tessellation you need a nice DX11 card.Just because the card is dx11 capable, it doesnt mean didly. Apparently, you'd need at least a gtx460 or ati 5860. Too rich for my blood thank you very much! If the card not fast enough, the framrate will suck. Bahh..ill be fine with my DX10.1 card.

AA seems rather finicky. Sometimes it'll be greyed out, sometimes it won't be, both with DX9 and DX11. Kind of confusing.
