People complaining about the fact they need xbox live to download the demo, but they do preorder the game with the dlc.-_-

Also blaming Bioware when it's not their decision...

What they should have done is have released the demo for xbox live gold member a week early, but there's no point lamenting over spilled water.

Now I really like this idea.

This is the first time that PS3 owners get a advantage over xbox owners WOOT.

Wont be suprised if sony dont start the same thing with playstation plus, if they do that i may be done with consoles, and have to invest in a gaming PC.

History in the making, good sir!

yes this.  Your blaming bioware for a service brought to you by Microsoft?

way to play to blame game!Image IPB

side note: I think Microsoft should make their membership free especially if they want casual gamers to buy DLC and games online especially through heavy marketing of the Kinect.  they are definitely going to shoot themselves in the foot if they dont change this.

Yep, give the XBox users the demo a week before PC and PS3. That would have gone over smashingly.

It's a demo. It's not like it is the full game.

I don't get it.

It isn't BioWare's decision. Also, apparently you can obtain the demo on a Silver account, so I think you are still good to go. I'm not sure if Playstation Plus will get its demo earlier, I have Plus, and I got it right on the 22nd.

No need to get in a tizzy.

You could just make a new account,
since they come with a one month gold membership. ;)

There's no delay for downloading DLC for silver memberships

Edit: i've never downloaded a full game over live, but i don't think the silver (free) live memberships get them on a delay either

What I've taken away from this thread is the fact that I cannot wait until I get the opportunity to use the phrase 'lamenting over spilled water' to someone.

There's a reason why PC gamers look down on consoles, and that's because they are not open platforms.  You're just gonna have to deal with it.

If you have a PC, why do you need to? That aside, yes, the silver memberships will get it free pretty soon, and since I hear the silver membership is free it shouldn't be an issue.

Because they plan on playing DAII on the console?

So let me get this straight.. To get this demo I have to be a member of Xbox live? Does someone not understand the word DEMO?

Here is another problem.. I cant get the free DLC because I have to join xbox live in order to do that?

How is that fair at all considering I can download it for free for PC and get it..

I think Bioware really needs to just give us the free dlc if we have done it once on another platform. This is really dumb we have to pay to get a demo

Start another profile on your Xbox and that profile will get a free month subscription to Xbox Gold and u can download it now. That's what I did, I downloaded it the very morning it came out. I can even the play the demo on my regular profile so it's not like it's annoying chore thing to constantly switch back and forth, once u got it's yours.

It's not Bioware's choice, it's Microsoft. Microsoft policy dictates that Gold members get demos a week before Silver memberships. Bioware can't change that.

Well, the OP's post made ti sound more like he/she was kvetching about the apparent lack of "fairness" and his/her apparent belief that it was necessary to pay for a gold membership. *shrug*

How is that fair at all considering I can download it for free for PC and get it..

I'm like, if the OP is able to play it on the PC now, he/she can sign up for the silver membership and get it later...although maybe I should said that explicitly. :P

The entire reason microsoft does it is to give Gold Members benifits while giving Silver members a reason to join gold.

Just business really. Nothing surprising.

"side note: I think Microsoft should make their membership free especially if they want casual gamers to buy DLC and games online especially through heavy marketing of the Kinect. they are definitely going to shoot themselves in the foot if they don't change this."

Yeah, because the sales of DLC and other purchasable items are so low at the moment that it needs some kind of boost.

Am I the only one not annoyed by the idea of there being differences between a Gold and Silver Membership?

I got 12 months for something like £20. I have spent more on haircuts than I did for a year of online gaming, access to free demos, Skyplayer, facebook, real fm and a bunch of other stuff.. Am I an opulent swine, yes, does that change that fact that a Gold membership is a remarkably good deal? No.
