I was cleaning up my save files today and i accidentally deleted my main origin's save are we going to be able to import our characters from witch hunt and have all our choices made in origins/awakening carried over to DAII?
Or do I need to play the main story again?

I'm pretty sure your Witch Hunt save will be sufficient (provided, of course, you imported your Origins game into it, possibly via Awakenings and Golems of Amgaaahk).

it was origins > awakening > witch hunt. i played golems before i beat origins and just made a new level 20 for it.

From what I've read, you can import from Awakening, Golems and Witch Hunt. If you imported your Warden into Golems and/or Witch Hunt, you should get a save with all your "achievements" in it ready for DA2. This is what I'm doing when I get my copy.

i also have to ask something. Unfortunately I have deleted my save files from Origins. I don't know why. It was late at night. I was overwhelmed with joy after finishing the game... I don't know. I have character xml file the use of which I don't even know. I will play Awakening soon. Won't I be able to import the character and my choices I have made? Or to say "I have done this instead of this" and so on and play accordingly? I also ask the same thing about DO2. What will become of me? Because I have done really strange choices in the game...

You'll just have to start from scratch in Awakening. In DA2 you have 3 preset histories to choose from but they only cover the very basic events from Origins. So one would say something like "You were a human noble, you survived fighting the archdemon and you put [spoiler] on the throne". You can't edit it, it's fixed.

I found a previous load game in my external hard and playing the game for the second time. Fortunately it was not a save from a very earlier stage but an Orzammar save.

I'm very curious/confused about something...I cannot seem to get my DA: Origins/Awakening character to import into DA2...am I doing something wrong? I always start in Lothering in DA2 as a human base character...

Sighhhh, that's not how the import works.
In Dragon Age 2 you DO NOT play as the same character from Dragon Age Origins. Your a completely different character with a different story. The reason you import from an Origins save is because the choices you made in Origins will impact the world around you. (Who's King/Queen, etc) You're not continuing your origin character's story, their story is over.

Not much changes when you import a save. Certain characrers will appear like Alistair, Zevran, and Nathaniel Howe. Depending on if they survived the previous games. Alistair can appear as king, grey warden, or a drunk. Some of you warden's exploits will be mentioned. I believe one of my friends files said something about how werewolves that the warden helped. I know your mother in the game says that the warden was related to them(Human Mage Origin). Other than a few minor changes, the imported save does not really do much. For example if Leliana dies in Origins, she will appear in Dragon Age 2. I literally beheaded her myself when she attacked me, but she appeared in DA2 with her head intact, which is kind of funny. Also if Anders dies in Awakening he will be alive in DA2.

It really makes me mad to read this. I just bought The Ultimate Edition, I wanted to start again the whole story so I can play as a gray warden in DA2 or at least change the story, but now I see that I wasted my money. Is the same thing lol

It's not a waste. So waht if DA2 only has changes from DAO's import. These are pebbles. The choices are likely to not really starting to matter to DA3 and beyond. Well hopefully.

None of my imports would work.
DA2 told me the last save of my awakening game did not end the game??
Strange thing to me since I watched ending credits roll by....
Wonder what I had to do to end the games.....
Tried to import the last save of origins too. DA2 told me it was not completed although I swear I watched the ending credits roll by....LOL
Silly programmers!

Eh so i have no characters saved from my Xbox 360 however i purchased DA2 for PC quite a while ago, i have synced my stuff so it labels all the achievements from DAO, i have both endings from origins, do i actually need the character to carry on my decisions to DA2 or are the achievements enough!?
