I didn't finish it because of total boredom of mage tower/void quest not because it was too long.

I have to agree,  I eneded up finishing it but that quest was brutal. I'm sure it turned a lot of people off.
The Fade part inn particular. I always hated doing that quest.

I didn't have much trouble with Deep Roads, the variety was nice.

Fairly sure of the 3.2 million copies sold, majority of those people finished.

I don't have the statistics in front of me, nor do I feel like going through many many threads to find the dev posts that back me up, but actually no...A significant chunk failed to really play the game past about 2 hours...

You have to remember that the people on this board tend to make up the minority, rather than majority of players...

That is surprising.  Of the 10-ish people I personally know who have Dragon Age, everyone finished it.  Most more than once.  I don't know a single person that did not finish it.

ME2 however is a different story.  Most finished it, but I know 2 people who just stopped playing it and lost interest.

Think of it this way:

The Harry Potter series is wildly popular. There are seven books that range from 77k-202k words in length.

Imagine that instead of releasing seven books, the publisher had released a single book that was 1,413,000 words long. How many people would buy that book and finish it? [/quote]

Right, so your logic is that lets say the 1st book, which was 900 pages. But that people got tired of a single chapter in the book and skipped it, so all the books after that would then make sense that they should be shorter right?

Except every Harry Potter book as the storyline continued, became longer. Just like every Wheel of Time book does, because the author has *more* to say, not less. Epic adventures are about doing more, and better, not less.
