I've beaten it over three times now (Just can't get enough of my super crush Alistair.. yes I know it's sad but David Gaider really knows how to make a super sweet character D:) and I'm sad... I've no idea what to do!
I've beaten it on different settings, went through all the classes (Warrior, Mage, Rogue) the different stories, and I just gotta have more!
Did anyone else find this game to be a bit short?
Too short?

The game is as long as you make it. I rushed the game on my first playthrough, which I regret. And now I'm taking my time and doing as many side quests as I can.

Short? I just finished my first playthrough, and it clocked in at a little under 75 hours (and I skipped some quests at the end, since I felt it would have been out of character to do them). That doesn't strike me as being short at all.

did you do any of the side quest or simply went getting the allies and rushed to the end ? for this playtrough i raised all companions relations to 100% with all the findable gifts i could get , gathered the most codex i could, all the companion's quest and after a few days im not even done yet so i dont really find it too short , im also trying to find all the armor sets there is ehhe

I wouldn't really consider it short, because of the replay value and the amount of options you can go through with character creation, etc. For me short is more of a game like Uncharted 2, no branching outcomes or differences... Even one replay adds hours and hours to the game, and this game has plenty of different outcomes. I've heard people take 75+ hours on one playthrough, for me it took more like 30-50 each time, but that's still plenty of time for a 60$ game imo if you go through 3 or 4 of them. Ultimately, a story-driven game has to end sometime!
If you really want more though, I'm sure there will be a sequel, and probably a decent amount of DLC forthcoming.

All the best games are too short, because you don't WANT them to end. It's like reading a good book, you don't want it to end, but you don't want to stop reading either.

Sure..if you rush through it it is plenty short...but if you go through and find/do everything..get the elusive 100% completion..which isn't possible in one playthrough..but doing everything possible should get you close, That should up the time..quite a large amount.

Well I did rush it a couple of times, but the rest I've really been trying to take my time and it's still clocking to be around 20-30hrs. This time certainly isn't anything to complain about, but it just seems like there should be more. Maybe I am skipping way more quests than I should. I'll have to take a closer look at it.

How are making in at 20-30hours with doing any side quests? The main storyline of the game takes roughly 20-30 hours to complete. Thats without doing any sides or any side content at all. Are you just playing on easy mode and speeding through it all?

Short? Are you kidding? You must skip half the quests and dialog in the game. What level do you finish at?

I'm utterly surprised that you finished it so quickly?
My first run lasted about 60 hours, and I purposely didn't do certain sidequests and DLC(Blackstone Irregulars, Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep etc...) so I would have some new stuff to do on my second run.
I'm 35 hours into my second run and I've only just completed the Circle Tower.

You must be skipping quite a bit somewhere... I've got 59:26 hrs in. with 30% of the map explored and 18% complete... I'm level 13 and i've done prologue, Ostagar , lothering, Broken Circle, Redcliff.. right now I'm in Denerim market running around doing sidequests. I've done a few companion quests.. Alistairs sister and Leliana's quest.. I've attempted killing flemeth but I can't yet. I've been having a lot fun on sidequests.. traveling back and forth on roads to different towns and getting weird random encounters. I start up the Urn quest as soon as I finish doing as many sidequests as possible.

Short? No. 80 hours on my first playthrough, and lots of replay value.
Too short? Yes. It was that good.

I was afraid it was going to be too long for me. I had put in 70+ hours and still the game said only about 40% completed. I was getting tired of repetitive combat and just wanted to get to it finally. I mean how many combinations of genlocks, hurlocks, emissaries and ogres can there be? I honestly thought the game outlasted its content by a small amount -- and there's a lot more I skipped.
Definitely not too short.

With all the games these days, this is actually one that lasts for more than 3 days. It's not short at all, it's the longest game I've played for a long time. It says that it took me 60 hours to complete the game the first time, and I did not do all the sidequest. I did a few but the story was so damn great I didn't wanna waste too much time in places.

It was indeed too short. But that is why it is such a good game. It is too short because it wants you to continue playing. I just wanted to cry for more content while I was glancing over all the possibilities at the ending, all the unsolved plots, all the room for expansions. Especially Morrigan.
But too short in terms of gameplay? Not at all. I spend merely 57:06:10 on my first playthrough (Which I just ended) and that is more than any other game has made me spend on singleplayer. No other RPG has yet to match that.

It took me 42 hours on my first play-through and then I only did 64 % (If I recall) of all that I could do in the game.

Wow... I guess I must be skipping something!
Well I don't have my time on the first run-through actually, it did take me a few days to get though.
Though the rest I skip through all the dialogue since I read it in the subtitles. I also know how to do all the storylines / quests (at least the ones I did before) and I've gotten into a nasty habit of playing pretty much the same storyline through each time.
I guess I really need to change this up a bit and get some more out of this game.

It'll tell you the time on the post-game savegame if you look at it on the right side.

I am playing 69 hour and I am at 15th level. But I think game could be longer because I am spending a lot of time in exhausting searching anything. If some quests would be more understandable and a lot of searching less toilsome it wouldn't be really too much long for a RPG. Some RPG games are much longer as Oblivion, Morrowind and even The Witcher. But it depends on what games are used to play. If you play often shooters then you will consider this game quite long but if you play mainly RPGs, so this game won't be too long for you .

Me and my friends finished DAO at 37-40 hours (with DLC), while my english is bad, I can read extremely fast so I skipped the voices when I knew the line to be said.
The thing is, on my 2nd playthrough I did like ... ahum 90% of everything in the game, and that was 50 hours, 50 hours = 0.5% of a year, think about it if you play DAO for ex for 100 hours ( as I did with star ocean 4...) you spended 1% of 2009 with DAO. Now thats nothing to be ashamed off, but isnt 1% of a year still much for one game?
