Honestly the best fun I had in Vives was when I got a bunch of the old timers to start over at level one and gather weekly to play Pen and Paper style. Great times. I think we only made it to level 7 before real life schedules kept everyone from playing together. Still it was a blast.
So all that to say, I see a slow leveling policy as a good sign. This project looks really good. But it doesn't look very active unfortunately.

I was going for crazy as in too long lol. But I'm just concerned about potentially "wasting" the time. All of the NWN servers I've been on have crashed and died away. My fave I poured five years into and was told that all of the donations in the world wouldn't save it, because the admin didn't want to continue hosting it. The next one on the list had an accidental server crash, and the admin's said "screw it" we won't upload your characters to the new server, you get to start everything over again. I'd think long and hard before ever committing to another rp server this late in the game, that has that long of a leveling period.
Just so you know - our (very planes influenced massive server) has been online for years in beta test (testimony to how serious we are about things working 100%). We have never deleted nor had to even consider deletion of any character files in all that time. Levelling is intended to be slowish, like lv 20 within 6 mos being possible but hard. PNP style rules all the way.
I agree that servers should be solid and do their very best to be there for the players for a long long time, but also, RL can spoil the best layed plans of mice, CPU, and man.
Hang in there adventurers! There are some long-term committed servers out there, seek and ye shall find.
Be well. Game on.

If you mean "People thought I was a man but they started treating me differently after they learned that I'm a woman," that's to be expected. Certain things that guys might blab about with other guys--sports, porn and such--tend to get brushed under the rug whenever a woman's around, whether out of chivalry or a lack of perceived common ground. Men are from Mars, women are from Venus and all that.icywind1980 wrote...
I think I'd better just stick to Guild Wars at this point anyway. Every time I find a good server. One I can actually RP on and not just enjoy hack n slash, it goes away, quickly. Or the people change when they find out I'm a female. It always happens.
But if you mean "The guys are treating me poorly and either coming on to me or treating me like I'm useless now that they've found out which sex I am," then yeah, you probably need to find another crowd. We have a female player over on the Pirate Isles server, her characters tend to be very well-written and all the other players love her. Alas, the server also has several areas in Serôs (the Undersea regions of the Sea of Fallen Stars), and most of her characters avoid the underwater areas, while my sea priestess is usually off exploring the depths somewhere or another. The last time that happened, that player and I ended up "singing" various songs from The Little Mermaid to each other via Tells.
So she's definitely one of the crowd on our server. Apparently, women go with pirate-related servers like, well, mermaids and sirens and pirate chicks go with pirate stories. And these forums lack a pirate smiley, so have a ninja instead!

Followed by a "hell to the no response", which was then followed by "stop being such a buzzkill b*tch" and then it just degenerated from there.
