It's up in one million now, but can we trust the numbers is correct?
I really hope is true, then we made it in recordtime! :)

/Maya- who even dreams she plays the game at night

This morning they were 300k though... And yesterday they were up in 700k. Something's not right. I like to think that we did it though.

there are other posts about this and they state that there is a problem with spammers, Bioware will fix it later, at least for now, until next time it happens.....:P

It must be spammers again: in 3.5h the counter went from ~700.000 to over 1.000.000 (an average of 1500 download per minute).

It is interesting to notice that it happened again in the same time of the day as yesterday, that is around midnight PST.

At this point I wonder how Bioware is going to tell the true downloads from the spammed ones.

The spams are all occurring while Bioware devs are away...coincidence I think not!

I worry that the devs might just say screw the items, this is rediculous!

I think most of you are forgetting the other downloads from 3rd party sites, such as Fileplanet, Fileshack, Steam, etc etc. My guess would be the sudden jump is due to them adding those number in manually.

@TolaGarf

It is not just a big bump: it more like there are times of the day when the rate of downloads goes up to more than 1200 downloads/minute (like they are now). You can easily measure them by writing down the numbers every 10 minutes (or having a script doing so).

To have a comparison, during the first day of download the rate was stable around ~120 downloads/minute over a period of 24 hours.

Yesterday Bioware decided to remove ~300.000 counts, which are more or less corresponding to the amount of downloads recorded during the "high rate" times.

I think they are going to do the same today, although at this point whole idea of counting the downloads might have become meaningless.

Well, before BioWare decides to take action... AND if they are reading -

BioWare - is it really worth all the work to remove the fake numbers? Isn't it easier just to give us those two tomes?

The counter is from people actually registering so downloads per minute doesn't mater. It's late morning in the US I'm guessing and a lot of gamers are finally gettng around to play it for the first time...

I am not sure I understand what you mean.
When I said "download/minute" I actually meant how many counts the counter on the webpage increased in one minute, and that is (I think) what Bioware is looking at.

It only registers on the counter when you log in on your ea account. Spammers have nothing to do with it.

I think they'll give us the free stuff even if they don't reach the quota. Call me optimistic.

If it never reaches a million? Oh... then the two publicised items will never be "unlocked" EVER!

I can't be the only one who thinks this promotion is utterly ridiculous.

@Sensory - It's not ridiculous, it's ludacris. I mean the odds of 1 mill downloads is just out of the bounds of reasonable, but BW will probably make those items available via paid DLC at some point.

I think 1MILL is a little too high of a number...but I put 2 in there! 360 Demo and PS3 Demo

As far as I know it still only counts as 1 since you used the same account.

I think we can make it, we need 140,000 more downloads in just over two days time. Really we are averaging over 160,000 downloads per day so far, so we can definitely make it.

I hope we make it in time. My pre-ordering plan greatly relies to this.
